This September, the Goderich Co-op Gallery welcomes the Bayfield Artist Guild as its visiting artists. The Guild has exhibited annually at the Co-op over the past number of years, and its members bring a range of work from just down the coast.

The Bayfield Artist Guild is a group of artists who live, work, and play along the shores of Lake Huron in the village of Bayfield. The Guild is dedicated to nurturing and inspiring its members, creating an inclusive space for all visual arts and skill levels. Members can look forward to workshops, guest speakers, plein air outings, and access to gallery exhibits.

Earlier this month, the Guild held a special art show called "We Love Where We Live," marking Bayfield's 150th anniversary. The show featured artwork celebrating the community, including a showcase centered on the village's lighthouse.

Goderich residents can see the Guild's work at the Co-op Gallery throughout September.

Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

The Goderich Co-op Gallery welcomes the students, musicians and visitors who are attending the Goderich Celtic College and Festival. We look forward to evening concerts of Celtic music on the Square. Have a great week everyone and drop by the gallery to enjoy some local and Celtic art.

VISITING ARTIST AT GCG FOR AUGUST -- CHRISTIAN DITTENHOFFER

Christian Dittenhoffer’s car must have a very colourful interior, as he often uses it as amobile studio when painting on-site (en plein air).
As the Goderich Co-op Gallery’s visiting artist for August, this Elmira-based landscape artist also paints in his home studio, preferring acrylics for their rapid drying time and vivid colours. This quick-drying quality allows him to beautifully capture the natural world using a soft-looking dry-brush technique.
Rocky shores, dense forests, rippling water, and beautiful sunsets are common subject matter for Christian’s work. He takes inspiration from his travels abroad and closer to home.
His landscapes are vibrantly colourful.
Be sure to come by and see the gorgeous work of this talented artist.

Show runs for the month of August.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate long time member, Anne Laviolette's 90th Birthday at the Goderich Co-op Gallery. Congratulations Anne!
We are extending Anne's retrospective art show until the end of July. Anne has included work from various times in her long art career. If you couldn't make it to the gallery this past week to see her work, there is still time to visit.

For ONE WEEK ONLY! A special retrospective of work by Anne Laviolette in honour of her 90th birthday is currently on view at the Goderich Co-op Gallery until July 18. As a long time member of the gallery she has contributed not only her artwork but her considerable energies to the gallery's success. Her accomplished painting style shows a mastery of light and shadow. Her work has been recognized in competitions such as the Huron County Art Show at the Museum where several of her paintings were chosen for inclusion in the Huron County Art Bank. The Art Bank is a permanent collection of art by local artists which is on loan throughout the county.

Please join us in celebrating this milestone birthday with Anne this Saturday, July 18 from 2pm - 4pm.

Anne Laviolette's art can be viewed at the gallery all this week during regular gallery hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
