⭐ STARSKATER OF THE WEEK: CLARA!

This is Clara! She is 10 years old and fell in love with skating when she first joined the goderich skating club at 5 years old.

Her favourite part of skating is performing her solo at competitions and showcases. She especially loves getting to wear her figure skating dresses in the ice!

This year she hopes to perfect her sit spin and learn how to do a backwards “shoot the duck.”

Clara wants to thank all of her amazing coaches for encouraging her and helping her accomplish her goals on the ice each year!

A big congratulations to our Skating Program Assistants on completing their training! ⛸️

They’re ready to take what they’ve learned onto the ice and help our coaches create a fun, positive, and supportive environment for our skaters this season. We’re so proud to have them as part of the Goderich Skating Club team!

Reminder! Tonight is PA Training, please note the schedule change.

⭐ CANSKATER OF THE WEEK: MJ!

Meet 7-year-old MJ! This is his second year of CanSkate, and he absolutely LOVES being on the ice!

MJ’s favourite things to do are skate FAST and do spins! He talks about skating all week and can’t wait for Mondays and Wednesdays when it’s time to get back on the ice.

He has his sights set on an exciting goal, passing CanSkate and moving on to StarSkate!

Keep skating, MJ! We can’t wait to watch you reach your goals! ⛸️

The Club Needs Program Assistants!

Once again, the Goderich Skating Club is looking for volunteers to join us as Program Assistants (PAs) for the upcoming season. This is a great way to get your high-school volunteer hours!

PAs are needed Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 5:00–5:45 PM to help with our CanSkate Program.

Because we need extra help at the start of the year, we ask that all PAs commit to at least 6 sessions. If you know someone who might be interested, please have them email us at [email protected].

PA Training:📅 Monday, Oct 12🕠4:00 to 6:00 PM📍 On-ice session first, then off-ice. Bring your skates!

Thank you to all of our current and returning PAs—your time and enthusiasm help each CanSkater succeed and make our club stronger.
