This is true….

Stop treating the theatre across town like the enemy. The audience isn’t a finite pie, actors aren’t property, and your real competition is Netflix. A rising tide lifts all ships.

HAYSTACK AND ST. PAUL'S DONATE #$1,500.00 TO MEALS ON WHEELS

The purpose of community theatre is to bring people together — in a way that makes a difference in the world. To tell our stories, to share laughter and tears and to learn about each other.
Haystack Productions in conjunction with St. Paul’s United Church has been telling stories, making audiences laugh and cry and making a difference in our community since 1994.
This year’s Dinner Theatre, “The Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant” was a huge success. If you were lucky enough to be in the audience you sang along with Elvis, cheered for a squirrel and voted on Miss Magnolia. You were instrumental in the success of our outreach program this year.
With a play focussing on seniors, what a better place to offer our help, but to Services for Seniors and more specifically Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels is one of those quiet community heroes—supporting older adults and individuals with limited mobility to remain independent in their own homes.
Painted by Tara Evans, the wooden car banks were on each of the tables and audience members were encouraged to drop any loose change in them. We also had envelopes for “folding money” donations. St. Paul’s United Church donated from the monies gathered at the dress rehearsal.
We are thrilled to share that the generous support of our audiences and St. Paul’s United Church has allowed us to donate $1,500.00 to Meals on Wheels. Thanks for all your support to help us build community through community theatre.
