My Sunshine Coast Hwy weaving is done for the most part. I’ll finish the yellow line on the road with some fine embroidery and add a couple picks at the tops of some of those trees whose shape I’m not totally happy with.

Can you tell what elements I left out of this scene?

I wove this with Everlea Colour Club colourways on Everlea Fi*****ng as well as natural Faulkland sheep grey from Long Way Homestead for the road.

I love this yarn for its similarity to handspun yarn, having been spun on Custom Woolen Mills’ ancient mule spinner mill equipment. Last week’s textural weaving workshop at Mad Park Art was so fun! These brand new weavers did amazing work for their first-ever weavings 🎉🎉. This project uses a variety of gauges of yarn for visual interest: naturally dyed Everlea Fi*****ng, worsted mule spun by Custom Woolen Mills as well as Highland Bulky and multiple strands of Bio Shetland held together. These yarns are all 100% wool and the colourways I offered never clash with each other so folks could weave knowing their project with be cute no matter what. Aren’t these weavings fabulous?!

Curatorial Assistant
Communications Assistant
Visitor Experience Assistant

Each position is an 8-week contract starting in May 2026, four days per week, at $20/hour.

These roles are funded by Canada Summer Jobs (Government of Canada). To qualify, applicants must be 15–30 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada.
