Hi everyone,
We welcome you to join us for our September 12th milonga at All Saints By-the-Sea from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. September's returning guest DJ is Helen Prince. $20/person.

Shannon and Shane will generously host a potluck dinner after the milonga, at their home at 134 Douglas Road. Shane will pick up your potluck dinner offerings at the church parking lot between 3:30 and 4:00. Rideshare if possible. Kindly park only on the right hand side of Douglas Rd, and do not block the neighbours' driveways. Walk down the gravel driveway, pass by the blue house, and continue down to the white and black house. Walk around or through the garden to the designated dinner and dance area. Saltspring's David Wooten will DJ the potluck dance.

Meet-in-the-Middle Milonga!
Where: Crofton Community Centre, 8104 Musgrave St., Crofton
When: Sunday, August 16th 1:00 to 4:00 PM
Monthly every 3rd Sunday afternoon (except December)
Who: Our DJ for August is John Fowler
Future DJs TBA
Cost: $20

Crofton Community Centre has a superb and huge wooden dance floor, supercharged air conditioning, and a view of the harbour if you care to look. We are delighted to welcome John Fowler as our DJ for our second milonga.

John Fowler says: "Linda and I first became seduced by Tango while visiting my Argentinian cousin in Buenos Aires, about 20 years ago.
I love the classic recordings from the 30s and 40s and the timing of the music, and I particularly try to understand and appreciate the poetry of the lyrics.
We have danced Tango in many countries worldwide, from much of South America to China, Europe and Australia. A lovely way to meet people from many cultures.

Hi everyone,
Our next Saltspring milonga has two days of offerings:
Friday evening Follower Technique Class with Lya in the lower hall of All Saints By-the-Sea 7:00-8:30pm. Price is $25, and pre-registration is requested.
Saturday pre-milonga class with Lya, 2:45-3:45. Price is $20. Following the class is our monthly milonga with Steve Morgan as DJ. 4:00-7:00. Milonga price is $20.

And that's not an end to the fun...
Shannon and Shane are hosting a post-milonga potluck dinner and dance at their home at 134 Douglas Road. Steve Morgan will be DJing at the outdoor dance/potluck event. If you'd like to attend, kindly bring a generous dish to share with the milonga attendees. Shane will be at the church parking lot to pick up both cold or hot dishes prior to the milonga. As always, kindly park on Douglas Road, not at the house. Park on the right-hand side of the road, and do not block the neighbours' driveways. Walk down past the blue house on the right, and carry on down to Shannon and Shane's white and black house. Walk down around the garden to the oceanside event.

Come Early! Tango Musicality Workshop at 12:30.

Steve Morgan says, "In this class I hope to pass on some ideas to help you explore your own musicality. You don't need to be a musician to dance tango musically although we'll explore some concepts and techniques musicians use to creatively enhance their playing, and that we can incorporate into our dance.
I believe that emotional expression was what the authors, singers, orchestras and musicians had in mind when they wrote and played the great tangos. They wrote from the heart and wanted the music to be danced from the heart."

About Steve Morgan: Steve has been dancing tango since 2009, DJ'ing since 2014. His primary teachers have been Alicia Pons and Liz Haight. For the past few years he has been working on refining his dance and expressing his interpretation of the music through musicality and connection with his partner.
