Springtime in Newfoundland brings a lot of excitement for locals and visitors alike. These majestic pieces of ice flow all the way from the arctic to the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. This particular painting highlights a huge iceberg landed on the shores of Ferryland in April of 2017. Facing to the east with the sunset, I have titled it “Early Riser”.

This painting I’ve done many years ago shows a dreary summer day with a boat sailing in to Seldom Come By on Fogo Island. Many will agree, the fishery has changed dramatically since this scene was displayed in the 80s.
