Come From Away, the award-winning musical all around the world comes home in this all-new production. The breathtaking musical tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the communities in Newfoundland and Labrador that welcomed them on 9/11. Come From Away is performed at the Joseph R. Smallwood Arts and Culture Centre on Airport Boulevard in Gander, the town where the story unfolds.

You were here. We want to hear from you. ❤️

We’re continuing our We Were Here project as part of this year’s production of Come From Away in Gander: a pre-show storytelling experience featuring real voices and stories from our community.

Last year, dozens of local residents shared their personal experiences from those unforgettable days in September 2001, welcoming audiences with warmth, humour, honesty, and humanity.

And we’re still looking for more stories.

If you were here and have a short story to tell, a moment of kindness, connection, humour, or something unexpected that has stayed with you, we’d love to hear it.

HOW TO SUBMIT:
Send us a brief recount of your experience (under 400 words) to [email protected].

We’ll review every submission and reach out to those selected to schedule a performance. We hope to include as many voices from our community as we can.
