A line from a poem by Rosemary Wahtola Trommer seems like a good title for this painting. I’ve painted into being some of my sacred allies, and the support that’s all around me. Around us.

Some folks might think like I used to…when a friend had a profound loss or losses, that in a few months or several months or so they’d be moving on.

I know now, from my own experiences and losses these past 8 months ….that grief is so so much bigger and more all encompassing than any timeline could ever indicate.

These is no moving ON. I believe there’s a moving WITH though. 💔

So I am in my beloved studio, painting and making glass art. Moving with and creating with grief as my constant companion.

The colours and motions of cutting glass and applying paint have a soothing quality that I feel deeply is part of the healing of my shattered heart. I’m so grateful for my creativity. And for this place to share.i

I was honoured to be featured in the fall issue of the luscious and inspiring In Her Studio magazine a few months ago. Fall 2025 issue.

I loved the experience of working with this crew, and this lovingly created magazine. My beloved (RIP) helped edit my story, and snapped the pix, with her pro eye.

It’s taken awhile to share because this issue came out when I was intensely immersed in caring and loving my forever guy Ode in his last days in this realm. Oh how I miss HIM. The intensity of this grief blanket is incredibly heavy and ongoing in every second of every day and every night. Truly,. If you know, you know. If you don’t, thank goddess. 💔💔💔

Only a few months after Ode was called to his next mission, my second biggest friend, fan, soul sister and supporter in all things, also left her body for her next mission in parts unknown. Ugh.

I love to see the beauty in all that WE created together, with our shared enthusiasm, wild hearts and big LOVE. They remind me all the time!

The last slide in particular is extra precious because it’s about Ode and his immense contributions to my creative life and success.

Thank YOU Ode, Thank YOU SharnaRay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have deep and endless gratitude for you both.

Dear SharmaRay, [RIP, Rest in Play as you would say] 🩷🩷🩷

🩷 oh wow, what a world of wonder you created for all of us to share in! Like your "brother" Ode Howard you embraced life with a fierce and wild spirit, always up for the next adventure, whether it be to our vast and glorious inner worlds or outward to art shows, festivals or world travels.

🩷 How lucky was I to have you as my strong and loyal friend and supporter of all my creative impulses and desires? I feel so very fortunate and grateful for your enduring love and devotion to our friendship.

🩷 You continually encouraged me to bring ALL of ME into ALL of my art! thank you, thank you for your unwavering belief in me.

🩷 From helping me set up art show, to you and Melissa bringing your Brave Girls Camp for glass fusing sessions, to sewing my Wild Spirit prayer flags, after we reveled in all the images on fabric! Fabric which was your favourite medium.

🩷 You participated in both of my online courses Paint Your Wild Spirit and Creative Sovereignty visual journaling. In the latter you made a complete visual journal out of fabric and textiles!! what?? so creative, so talented, so alive!

🩷 And then you would attend my art show openings, in your full empowered glory of SharmaRags clothing! You gifted my glass hearts to show attendees, blessing them (and me) with so much love. Wow....Wow...Wow.

🩷 Beloved YOU and my beloved ODE....you were (are?) my number 1 and number 2 supporters of all things Tammy, and Tammy's world. I'm still reeling from your absence in the physical. Not FULLY connected to your powerful allyship from beyond, but I trust that you're out there, working your magic as always. Dancing and frolicking....probably even with ODE sometimes!

😿It's been 5 weeks SharmaRay since you left this earthly plane, for your next wild adventure.

A colour filled throwback to happier times, my Ravenlandia show at the newly opened Free Spirit Gallery, Dec. 2021.

Sadly that gallery is now closed, but I was fortunate to have two solo shows there, including this first one.

We do have the amazing gallery on our uber creative small island in the pacific, where you can see my work and many highly talented and creative local artists, so that’s awesome.

I’m in a deep personal grief process currently, and some mourning (the grief that’s shared is called mourning, did you know that? )

so I’m thinking as a way to get back into sharing my art here I’m just gonna allow myself to share random high frequency art images of any era for a while. As I’ve gone through so many pix looking at all the memories of me and my beloved Ode’s (RIP) life together I seen thousands of pix of my art along the way too…some of which he helped to create.

Sounds alright hey? I think so. ❤️😿💔😢🪗

Salon Style Art Show happening today Feb. 21 and Feb.22 at our loved and local Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre.

16 local artists, including me, working in 2d and 3d with a huge variety of creative voices gathered into one room.

Presented by productions, with her crew of merrymakers.

My first time promoting my art after several months, after experiencing massive personal losses and barely upright some of the time.

Thank you for making it easy for me to fulfill the commitment I made to this show many months ago. ❤️🔥💯

My pieces are fresh and lively, I created all of these in the past year, the two pieces have steel stands made by my beloved (RIP) and a couple of the paintings are on panels made by him too. The zebra painting is inspired by soul sister SharmaRay (RIP). Zebra was/is her power animal.

Head on over to the show for a breath of fresh air to guide you through this last month of winter.

Awe, this is a fun memory from the past, with my art work at Artzi Stuff in Nanaimo. So much bright, lightness in these pieces.

I went to Gabriola Island yesterday for yet another studio visit. What a gorgeous, bright, uplifting place Tammy Hudgeon Wild Spirit Studio is. I brought home a bit of everything, big and small paintings, glass window, glass hen and smaller glass plates. I put it all in the front window and am quite sure it will brighten people's day.
