Not one, but two Sistema NB graduates have been named to CBC Music's Classical "30 under 30" list this year! We don't think that's a coincidence. It's a reflection of what can happen when young people are given the opportunity and support to achieve their full potential.

At just 15 years old, Daniel Milliea is the youngest musician on this year's list.

Daniel's musical journey began at Sistema NB Elsipogtog Centrebefore continuing with the Moncton Youth Orchestra / Orchestre des jeunes de Moncton and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra / Orchestre des jeunes du Nouveau-Brunswick. Along the way, he has grown into an exceptional violist and a proud young ambassador for his Mi'kmaq community.

Congratulations, Daniel! We can't wait to see where your musical journey leads next.

Ce ne sont pas un, mais bien deux diplômés de Sistema NB qui figurent cette année sur la liste « 30 under 30 » en musique classique de CBC Music! Nous ne croyons pas que ce soit un hasard. C'est le reflet de ce qui est possible lorsque les jeunes reçoivent les occasions et le soutien nécessaires pour atteindre leur plein potentiel.

À seulement 15 ans, Daniel Milliea est le plus jeune musicien à figurer sur la liste cette année.

Le parcours musical de Daniel a commencé au Centre Sistema NB d'Elsipogtog, avant de se poursuivre avec l'Orchestre des jeunes de Moncton / Moncton Youth Orchestra, puis l'Orchestre des jeunes du Nouveau-Brunswick / New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. Tout au long de ce parcours, il est devenu un violoniste alto exceptionnel et un fier jeune ambassadeur de sa communauté Mi'kmaq.

Félicitations, Daniel! Nous avons bien hâte de voir où ton parcours musical te mènera.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Kalvin Rowe, who has been named to CBC Music’s Classical “30 under 30” list, recognizing Canada’s most promising emerging classical musicians!

Kalvin’s musical journey began right here in New Brunswick in the Sistema NB Saint John Centre. He progressed to the Saint John Youth Orchestra and then the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra / Orchestre des jeunes du Nouveau-Brunswick, where he developed not only as a musician, but as a contributing member of our community.

We were honoured to feature Kalvin as a soloist with the NBYO in Debussy’s Première Rhapsodie in 2025 and at just 18 years old, he has already achieved so much, including winning the $5,000 grand award at the FCMF National Music Festival and preparing for his second year at the Glenn Gould School, where he studies on a full scholarship with renowned clarinetist Joaquin Valdepeñas.

We can’t wait to see where his dedication and passion take him next!

Nous sommes extrêmement fiers de célébrer Kalvin Rowe, qui a été nommé au palmarès Classical « 30 under 30 » de CBC Music, qui reconnaît les jeunes musiciens classiques les plus prometteurs du Canada! 🎶

Le parcours musical de Kalvin a commencé ici même au Nouveau-Brunswick, au Centre de Saint-Jean de Sistema NB. Il a ensuite poursuivi son chemin avec l’Orchestre des jeunes de Saint-Jean, puis avec l’Orchestre des jeunes du Nouveau-Brunswick / New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, où il s’est développé non seulement comme musicien, mais aussi comme membre engagé et contributeur de notre communauté.

Nous avons eu le privilège de présenter Kalvin comme soliste avec l’OJNB dans la Première Rhapsodie de Debussy en 2025. À seulement 18 ans, il a déjà accompli beaucoup, notamment en remportant le grand prix de 5 000 $ au Festival-concours de musique du Canada et en se préparant à entamer sa deuxième année à la Glenn Gould School, où il poursuit ses études grâce à une bourse complète auprès du réputé clarinettiste Joaquin Valdepeñas.

Nous avons très hâte de voir où sa passion et son dévouement le mèneront!

This evening our Club had the privilege of hearing a presentation from Jonathan Astley, Chief Operations Officer of Sistema NB. In the photo King Lion Anthony is presenting Jonathan with a donation of $2600 to support this great music program in local schools.
