Our mission is to create extraordinary theatre that inspires and entertains our audience while celebrating New Brunswick’s best theatre artists; and to provide outstanding theatre training and performance that educates and awakens the imaginations of our youth. Theatre New Brunswick acknowledges that it carries out its work on the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq and Pesk

otomuhkati peoples. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which these nations first signed with the British Crown in 1726. The treaties did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources, but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We, the staff and members of the board, pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land. We honour the knowledge keepers and seek their guidance as we strive to develop closer relationships with the Indigenous people of New Brunswick.

Our first holiday production in several years is a timeless love letter to Maritime families and seasonal traditions!

Adapted by NB Playwright, Ryan Griffith from the short story by Alistair MacLeod, To Every Thing There is a Season tells the story of four siblings who recall one Christmas, long ago, when their family changed forever.

The show features traditional and original Celtic music, along with the poetic language and haunting characters both Alistair and Ryan are celebrated for!

Performances runs November 18-30 with stops in Fredericton, St. Stephen, Moncton, Miramichi, Dalhousie, Florenceville-Bristol, St. Andrews, and Saint John.

Introducing this year's Theatre School Instructors!

Courtney LePage (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist and the Executive Director of Rogue Productions in Fredericton. Recently relocated from NYC, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and as an actress she has toured internationally, performed on cruise ships and even co-hosted a live TV game show on Nickelodeon.

Locally, she has had the pleasure of producing & directing projects for The Fredericton Playhouse (Rock of Ages, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys & Dolls, Home for Christmas), the KIRA Amphitheatre in Saint Andrews (Come From Away, Broadway By the Sea, West Side Story, Sweet Dreams: The Air Supply Musical) and recently directed the TNB Senior Musical Theatre class in Hadestown: Teen Edition and Mean Girls: High School Edition.

Select NYC casting credits include Gettin’ The Band Back Together (Broadway), Jesus Christ Superstar 50th Anniversary Tour, Rent 20th Anniversary Tour, Kinky Boots National Tour, West Side Story in Tokyo, Norwegian Cruise Line productions, and various SAG indie features. She has cast full theatrical seasons for many regional theatres throughout the USA including Riverside Theatre (FL), John W. Engeman Theatre (NY), Tuacahn Amphitheatre (UT), Arvada Center for the Arts (CO), Theatre Aspen (CO), Stages St. Louis (MO), Theatre Raleigh (NC), and projects for Folger Theatre (DC), Dallas Theatre Center, Broadway in Chicago & Ivoryton Playhouse (CT).

Courtney is a passionate coach and teacher and is regularly invited to teach across North America at conservatories and universities. She continues to work with various production companies as an independent consultant.

Fred has a lot on his mind. The origins of the universe, for starters. The fabric of space-time, too. The formation of the Earth, plate tectonics, the fossil record, gravitational waves, dark matter, winding valley roads, campfires, pottery cafes—the list goes on and on. There’s also the matter of the giant salty egg, the man in the comfy blue chair, and the burning question: “Is this good? What I’m doing? With my time?”

Introducing this year's Theatre School Instructors!

Acasha Knowles (she/her) is a 4th year English Honors student at St. Thomas University. Most recently, she finished an internship with Solo Chicken Productions in which she took the main stage at the NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival as Carmen in The Dog Dies. Before that she was seen in STU Musical Theatre's production of Pippin and often can be found writing essays at Coffee and Friends, her favourite local cafe.

When she is not wearing a student or thespian cap, Acasha can be found at the movie theatre or roaming the wild wild west with her pal. She is very thrilled to be working with TNB, finally putting all her acting and leadership experience to good use as the Junior Acting Instructor.

The Western Front, 1918.

Nurses Christy, Maggie, and Bab have crossed the ocean from Canada to care for wounded soldiers in the First World War. Despite the terrible injuries they must deal with, they manage to stay hopeful as the dangers of war draw closer to their hospital. Through it all, the three women find friendship, independence, power, and influence in a place where men, once again, are trying to destroy the world.

TNB is seeking Non-Equity artists based in New Brunswick for the Young Company TYA tour. Applicants should note that if cast they will be responsible for performing in Dinostories!, and facilitating the workshops with Story Lab.

We've accepted an invitation to perform our hit production, Bluebirds by Vern Thiessen, at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre in London, England!

This is our first time touring internationally and you can help us reach the global stage by donating to our Bluebirds in London fundraising campaign!

Here is Theatre New Brunswick's 58th season!

First up​, we​ are present​ing The Final Recordings of an Almost Extinct Bird by Halifax’s ZUPPA at our Open Space Theatre, October 2​ & 3. A story of summer love in Nova Scotia, and the colossal, cosmological questions that are cracked open by its retelling.

Our season continues with To Every Thing There is a Season​, adapted by NB Playwright Ryan Griffith ​f​rom the 1977 Alistair MacLeod short story. Set in Cape Breton, it tells the story of 4 siblings who recall one Christmas, when their family changed forever. The show features traditional and original Celtic music, along with the poetic language and haunting characters both Alistair and Ryan are celebrated for.​ To Every Thing There is a Season runs ​in November​ 2026 with performances in Fredericton, St. Stephen, Moncton, Miramichi, Dalhousie, Florenceville-Bristol, St. Andrews, and Saint John.

In February and March 2027, the ECMA-nominated Dinostories! 3 Prehistoric Fairy Tales written by Dan Bray and Noella Murphy, will tour to elementary schools​ while Story Lab​ offer​s drama club support and specialized theatre workshops for middle and high schools.

​O​ur biggest news is that our hit production Bluebirds will make its international premiere at the award-winning Finborough Theatre in London, UK!

Bluebirds by Vern Thiessen tells the story of three vibrant young women who were part of a contingent of highly respected and well-trained nurses Canada sent overseas in WW1. They became known as 'Bluebirds,' in reference to their beautiful blue uniforms.
