The Charlotte Street Arts Centre (CSAC) is an important space for arts and culture activities in downtown Fredericton. The Centre is located in the old Charlotte Street School, a historical building dating back to 1884. CSAC provides spaces to artists and organizations in all disciplines, including visual, performing, musical, and literary as well as to a variety of cultural groups. The building features the Charlotte Glencross Gallery, a fully technically equipped auditorium upstairs (available for rental for events), artist studios and a basement cafe & restaurant. We're excited to announce second round of Mama with Baby, Movement and Strength. This new program, led by Fredericton dancer and parent Lauren Rennie, began in September and has proven to be a popular health, creative, and supportive class for Moms and Littles. Postpartum fitness with a social twist!

This second round of class runs for six weeks beginning Thursday November 5, 10-11 a.m. in the Jim Myles Auditorium.

Campus Radio: Your Local Music Connection w/ Erin Bond 🎙️

Erin Bond is an award-winning music and media professional with more than a decade of experience championing emerging Canadian artists through campus radio, distribution, and industry development. As Music and Program Director at CHSR 97.9FM, she curates the station’s programming and works to connect independent artists with audiences through radio.

Erin provides distribution and industry support to emerging artists, with several releases charting nationally, the latest being Kill Chicago's The Next, which reached the Top 10 on the national !earshot chart. A Polaris Music Prize juror and longtime member of New Brunswick’s music community, she is particularly passionate about the role campus/community radio plays in giving local artists a place to be heard.

Zachari Smith is a versatile musician, songwriter, and producer who has performed all over the world in the last 20 years, playing in Joshua Hyslop's band (over 500 million streams) and opening for artists including Jon & Roy, Jenn Grant, Mo Kenney, Garrett Mason, and Dylan Menzie. As part of the duo Andrew and Zachari Smith with his father, Andrew, he has toured Europe and Canada many times and released two albums. He has also toured internationally as a solo artist and produced many artists from his studio based in Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore.

What Does Success Look Like for Your Band?

This workshop/discussion will be led by Paul Hayes, who plays in bands including Nate & the Busy Boys, Radiator, Chillteens, Merci Buckets, and more! This workshop is an open discussion about the realities of being in a band and navigating the music scene. Drawing from his experiences, Paul will share stories and lessons learned about touring, life on the road, band etiquette, and working with other musicians.��

Paul participated in Fest Forward in 2022 with one of his bands, Merci Buckets, and has been an active member of the Fredericton music scene since 2020. It’s great to have him returning to Fest Forward to share his experiences and support the next generation of emerging artists! �
