We are honoured to host the debut exhibition by 11 year old Fredericton artist Yuliana Gradovich.

Yuliana was born in Minsk, Belarus. In 2021, she immigrated with her family to Turkey, and later to Canada and currently attends Bliss Carman Middle School.

A student of our good friend Alina Karmadanova, Yuliana has been drawing since the age of four and continues to regularly develop her skills through consistent practice and creative exploration.

Yuliana chose watercolor for this series because she wanted to experiment with this medium and capture the world around her. Animals, people, magical worlds, and architecture are all part of everyday life and imagination.

When she paints, Juliana becomes deeply absorbed in the process and often surprises herself with how new techniques look in the final artwork. She loves drawing because it was the first hobby that truly captivated her β€” and it is something where she can clearly see her progress over time.

Yuliana especially enjoys creating sketches and then building on them with new ideas that appear during the painting process. She is inspired by the opportunity to share her work with others and to create a sense of wonder in the viewer.

Join us in celebrating Yuliana's gallery debut this Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

This Thursday we open Eva Christensen Art 's new exhibition Stay - a solo exhibition exploring nostalgia, love, and the passage of time - daily life with dogs.

We had the great fortune of meeting Eva in 2025 after she so graciously accepted an invitation to teach a class here at the arts centre. Since that time we have become creative collaborators, exhibition partners, and most importantly, friends.

We hung this exhibition yesterday in the Charlotte Glencross Gallery. It was as rewarding an experience as it was an emotional one with Eva sharing stories about her dogs and the deep meaning and purpose they bring to both her and her husband's lives.

This exhibition opens Thursday with a public reception between 5-7 p.m. There will be a few formal words from Eva around 5:15 p.m. followed by time to enjoy the work. We'd love to see you. I hope you can make it.

This past Monday we were fortunate to host a garden party and luncheon for the Writing Our Lives Memoir Writing Group. This group is run by our dear friend Viviane Edwards and members meet bi-weekly in our Community Arts Room to talk, discuss their work, encourage one another, and occasionally eat cake! Always a pleasure to have them with us, outdoors or out.
