The Centre is located in the old Charlotte Street School, a historical building dating back to 1884. Experience a night of thrill, melody, and emotive performance by JTK, live in Fredericton, this Oct 24th.

This Fall, on Oct 24th, JTK will return, for a "Hello World" reboot, performing songs from his catalogue (including the "Hello World" EP), new and old; bumpy and chill; popular and localized singles in support of the upcoming "Hello World (Deluxe)" album.

JTK/Jtk (Josh the Killer) simply kills beats and translates emotions into words and sounds. His moniker 'The Killer' was derived with the intention to 'kill' you, playing off an alternate meaning of the word 'kill, to overwhelm someone with emotions.

JTK, formally named Chijioke Okorie was born in Lagos Nigeria and moved to Canada for higher education. After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, JTK switched his career path and actively built his musical catalogue, and subsequently a multi-media company named JTK Music.

Having explored numerous styles and themes in his writing and music production, demonstrating versatility, JTK narrowed down to themes of upliftment and now sees music beyond a means of escape but rather a guide into rather fearful paths of self-reflection and identity exploration.

NEW DATE!

Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict, we have moved our one-day Portraits in Oil workshop with Hayley Monroe from October 10 to the new date: October 24. All current registrants have been notified.

Same great workshop, just a date change. Here's what to expect:

In this one-day workshop participants will explore the fundamentals of portrait painting. Learn how to effectively use composition, tone, lighting, colour blending and brush techniques to create compelling portraits.

This workshop is for intermediate painters. This is not a beginner course. Participants should have a confident grounding in basic oil painting techniques to get the most out of this one-day intensive.

Tin Pan Darlings are set to make their CSAC debut next week!

Tin Pan Darlings first came on the scene with their debut album INSIDE A MELODY, a fun and unique project that transports listeners to an era full of speakeasies, heartening romance, and colourful characters.

In 2026, they unveiled POSTCARDS, a new song series that explores their wide-ranging musical interests. The indie-influenced single “Midlife Elegy” has been making the rounds on CBC Radio and online stations such as CKDU Halifax and Folk’d Up Radio. The sister duo plans to release a follow-up “Outside the Frame,” featuring bluegrass-style vocal harmonies in September 2026.

Tin Pan Darlings received nominations from the East Coast Music Association & Music Nova Scotia in 2018/19 for INSIDE A MELODY, as well as being featured on CBC Shift, East Coast Music Hour, Campus Radio (peaked at no. 7 on !earshot), Telegraph Journal, Grid City, and The East Mag. They also received funding from FACTOR Canada which helped to propel their project to completion.

The sister duo is thrilled to perform with a strong East Coast rhythm section to keep the band cookin' and their quirky, story telling music is sure to swing its way into the hearts of music-lovers everywhere. Also joining for the performance at Charlotte Street Arts Centre is Fredericton's outstanding vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Kelly Waterhouse.

Here's a quick look at a few fall programs nearing capacity. There's little something for everyone here. Let's take a look:

Wet on Wet Oil Painting (One day workshop October 3)

Intro to Linocut Printmaking (five week program with Andrew Robinson)
Freestyle Embroidery (One day workshop with Cat Candow)

PLUS, there is still room in our Restorative Pilates & Movement program. Open to all ages and abilities, this 10 week noontime program is ideal for adults starting out or returning to a movement class after a break and those who may have some mobility issues.

From our friend Brittany:

We’re doing the darker months differently this year: think shadow work, but make it cozy and communal. This is a therapist-led group for creatives, neurodivergent folks, and tender-hearted humans who know or suspect they’ve experienced Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Late Fall and Winter are reflective times. Instead of fighting a natural pull inward, we’ll lean into it to explore our inner worlds. We’ll face the truths the dark months bring and discover what they’re here to teach us. Blankets, tea, and creative materials provided!

A new session of Baby Crafters begins next week.

Join Tiziana Zevallos for this six-week program designed specifically for parents and their newborns. Each class will focus on a new art activity that is easy to work on while having a baby next to you! Create simple collages, draw, paint, you might even make stamps with your baby's feet! The main purpose of this class is simple: make art and hang out with other parents. Coffee and tea provided. Drop in for a single class or register for the full six week program. The choice is yours!

All materials included.
