πͺΆ The Sitansisk / St. Mary's First Nation Powwow is nearly here!
From June 19β21, the community is invited to St. Mary's Old Reserve (534 Union Street) for the 26th Annual Powwow β a weekend to connect with the voices and traditions of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) people through music, dance, and ceremony.
Special Update: Sitansisk 26th Powwow
Due to unpredictable weather conditions, wet ground, and concerns for the safety of our dancers, Elders, and all attendees, the Powwow Committee has decided to relocate the Sitansisk 26th Powwow to Willie O'Ree Place, located at 605 Cliffe Street.
Please note: The powwow schedule remains unchanged.
Across the weekend you can explore 75+ vendors and artisans, savour a variety of traditional and non-traditional foods, and witness an extremely talented lineup of dancers and drum groups.
Grand Entry is Saturday at 1:00 PM and Sunday at 12:00 PM, with the Powwow Pitch & Social kicking things off Friday evening.
Everyone is welcome β please come with respect for the land, the people, and their ways. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the powwow grounds.
