These are the first hoops that I have stitched in over a year. I want to say that stitching came back to me as easy as riding a bike, but no. The truth is that there was a lot to relearn — the muscle memory of certain stitches, how certain fibres work with certain fabric, and there was also new techniques to attempt, which takes time. There has also been the business of relearning how to better connect with you, which I am continuing to do everyday. I have had to give myself a lot of grace during this period. But I am so proud of how everything came together.

Tomorrow is the opening night of the Capital Art Sale, where you can find these hoops hanging along other amazing works of art. hope to see you there. 🪡

new brunswick wildflower bouquet. this hoop was inspired by the gorgeous dried wildflower bouquet i had purchased this fall from the lovely folks at Sunpoke Flowers in Rusagonis. strawflowers, pampas grass, goldenrod, greenery - perfection.

so i'll say it again
the leaf has a song in it.
stone is the face of patience.
inside the river there is an unfinishable story and you are somewhere in it
and it never ends until all ends.

take your busy heart to the art museum and the chamber of commerce.
but take it also to the forest.
the song you heard singing in the leaf when you were a child
is singing still.

Such a proud moment!! 😍 When I started embroidering five years ago, I had always dreamed about having my hoops in an art show. After a whirlwind year, this made my heart burst.

Thank you to all who have purchased my hoops tonight or have supported me along the way thus far! Your celebration and validation of my art is so, so appreciated. The runs until Saturday, be sure to support local art and your local artists this upcoming holiday season!! 🎨

‼‼ BIG NEWS ‼‼. I am so excited to announce that I will be selling my hoops at the Capital Art Sale in from November 17-20! 😍

I will have several embroidered hoops available in different designs and sizes for any stocking stuffer or holiday gift needs (or a treat yourself moment 😆).

Having my art sold at an art show has been on my vision board for a long time. I'm so excited to have my art featured among other amazing local artists. I have been stitching up some of my original designs, as well as some new holiday concepts.

hoop no. 2 - avocado 🥑
This hoop brought some initial challenges, but I'm happy with the result. As with all my hoops, I free hand draw the pattern before I stitch it. I wasn't pleased with the lack of symmetry of the avocados initially, but I reminded myself that, just like nature, nothing is perfect. Two hoops down, 28 to go!
