I found some discipline since I got back from painting in Rosebud, Alberta. Getting up earlier so i could catch the early morning light. I found inspiration right in my own garden. Pretty brisk conditions but hot thermos of coffee keeps warm and the Susie dog for company. The oil paint needs tacking up and I’m done with the cold.

I had a pleasant surprize, Alex Kulchar from our ranching past, tried to locate me to buy a painting. He couldn't find our phone numbers, so he must have googled me and found me on the Federation of Canadian Artists website. Some of my work is on there for sale, to pick out a painting that he liked, that would be suitable to give to the General Manager of the BC Cattleman's Association, Kevin Boon, as a going away gift. So enjoyed my time at Paarens Beach, rented the two camping spots at the Turnaroud Tree just to be set up by myself. Cost me 111.00 but it was worth it. Yes Art does have a cost, so think the next time you ask an Artist how long does it take to paint a painting, or they are taken back at the price. I get further along on it, but didn’t get it finished that’s because it is a huge canvas. Also I have been in such pain from a bad case of the shingles.

Started this in Acrylic, plein air painted last at the campground . Finished today with oils. My first vehicle painting, I tried to leave it loose. I’m happy with it. I’m at the Omenica Art Centre today from 5 -7 opening reception, there’s refreshments. Please share, and hope to see you!
