If there’s one thing I enjoy, it’s resurrecting an instrument for a client. “Hey, man, something broke on this a while ago, and I just never got it fixed. Can you help?” Makes me happy to get folks playing again!

As the summer repair season comes to a close, and back to school creeps ever closer, I reflect on how grateful I am to be doing what I do. Thank you, Wood Buffalo, for allowing me to keep you playing!

On the home stretch!
I think the best advantage you can give any music student is an instrument that plays well. I’m thankful that some of our local schools choose me to help with that!

My littles are not so little now, and that leads to a false sense of security! After a week at camp, they brought home something from the summer Petri dish that makes doing woodwinds not make sense, so guitar club instruments are on the menu!
- Tune
- Straighten Neck
- Check for String Buzz
- Remove old strings
- Clean and hydrate fingerboard
- Check fret ends
- repair any structural damage
- install new strings
- tune and playtest

REPEAT!

Just in case you’re wondering what my July has mostly consisted of….
- Open case
- Visually inspect and check to see if any parts are needed (in case I need to order them)
- Clean the mouthpiece
- Assemble and use tester mouthpiece to playtest
- Clean and adjust necessary pads
- Adjust key work as necessary
- Clean case if necessary (I’m pleasantly surprised at how clean the cases are!)
- Organize accessories
- Swab and wipe down instrument
- Generate invoice

REPEAT!
