SRE invites performers aged 16+ of all experience levels to our Musical Theatre Workshop! Details and registration at swampratexperience.com/artistic-development.

Led by experienced theatre artists Jenny Price and Hanna Fridhed, this workshop runs for four hours and blends vocal technique, movement fundamentals, and character exploration. Participants learn warm up routines that protect your voice, tools for projection and clear diction, and acting techniques. Small-group exercises and individual coaching moments will give you actionable feedback to refine your audition pieces and develop a commanding stage presence.

If you plan to audition for Keyano Theatre’s production of "Come From Away", this workshop is a great way to prepare. You will leave feeling focused, confident, and ready to step on to any stage!

If you’re not planning to audition, this workshop is an ideal opportunity to stretch your abilities. You’ll challenge yourself with new material, build confidence through supportive guidance, and connect with fellow performers in a collaborative environment.

Whether you want to try something different or deepen your existing skills, you’ll leave with fresh insights and greater self-assurance on stage.

Registration is by donation. Recommended amount: $15.

Chaos Cabaret is a bold and inclusive event that invites artists of all ages and experience levels to take the stage! Performers are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and brave roles that they would love to play, but would never traditionally be cast in. This creative twist opens the door for performers to explore unexpected characters, genres, and vocal styles, sparking artistic growth and personal expression.

Our first 2026 Summer Drama Kids Camp wrapped with an incredible original showcase created by our young artists! Over the past week, they explored Commedia dell’Arte, designed their own masks and costumes, built characters, and worked together to create a set that brought their story to life. They learned new skills, made new friends, and proved that theatre is a place where everyone can shine. As camper Abi put it, “It’s like learning, but fun!” 😆❤️

Even if your dream isn’t to be centre stage, there is always a role to discover. One of our campers took on the tech booth and ran the lights like a pro, showing just how many creative paths theatre can offer.

Congratulations to our talented campers, and thank you to everyone who joined us for the showcase! ❤️ A special thank you to Camp Instructor Devon and Assistant Instructor Ceilidh for building a fun, safe, and inclusive space where kids can explore and express themselves. We are grateful for everything that you bring to this program, and we're excited the welcome the young artists participating in our final Summer Drama Camp of 2026 next week!

"I randomly chose to take a chance on myself and audition for a play. I expected the journey to be strenuous and uncomfortable at times, but I am pleased to say that although the hours were long, it was all worth it.

The community I gained, the experiences, and the valuable lessons that the play, everyone on the production team, and Swamp Rat Experience at large gave me will forever be engraved in my heart. So take a chance on yourself, you’ll never know how far you can go until you do."
