Swamp Rat Experience is bringing back Pride Cabaret on Saturday, June 27, at King Street Theatre! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷🩵🤎🖤 This evening is a celebration of Pride Month, a dazzling showcase of self-expression and creativity where everyone aged 18+ is welcome to perform, enjoy, or both!

We are looking for artists of all experience levels interested in performing at this event in any performing arts dicipline (dance, poetry, improv, musical theatre, stand-up comedy, music, acrobatics, mime, etc.).

Opportunity shared with us by our friends at Alberta Foundation for the Arts: Free Songwriting Workshop with John Wort Hannam

When: Saturday, June 6 and 7 from 10am-4pm
Where: Holy Trinity Catholic High School

"Everyone Has A Story” is a songwriting workshop designed for Albertans of all backgrounds and skill levels. This project will guide participants through the creative process of songwriting—from idea generation to final composition. (It is important to note that participants do not need to play an instrument or sing - this workshops focuses on song lyrics.)

Participants will work to create a song based on a personal story or experience. When we tell and listen to each other’s stories, we connect, and connection builds bonds.

The workshop spans two days; it is one workshop broken into two parts, not a one-day workshop offered twice. Congratulations to our friends at Holy Trinity Catholic High School on their run of Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief! ⚡️ We're in awe of the growth of the Drama program under the thoughtful care of Ms. Bryden Trapp, and proud to see so many Swamp Rats on and off stage.

The students' heartfelt speech to Ms. Trapp really showed everyone in the room the importance of arts programs in schools and how much it matters to students, teachers, and the community at large. ❤️

A high‑energy week of acting, improv, teamwork, and playful storytelling, ending with a showcase for family and friends.

July 6–17, 8:30am–4pm

A two‑week deep dive into devised theatre, character work, improvisation, and production. Teens create an original show from the ground up and perform it on the final day.
