Empress Theatre Fort Macleod A protected heritage building, this charming little venue presents events, music and films. Rental inquiries may be directed to the administration office.

This enduring facility can seat just over 300 people at cinematic, musical, dramatic and other cultural, corporate and community events. Our licensed lounge and lobby concession serve up treats for all ages. Built in 1912 and beautifully restored in the 1980s, the place is steeped in history and continues its run into the 21st century. Depending on the event, tickets can be purchased online, over

the phone, at the door or at our administration office, two doors east of the theatre. Concession, intermission bar and admission for regular screenings in the cinema are cash only.

Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society is bringing King Lear to the Empress on Thursday, July 9! 🫅

This classic play follows an aging monarch who divides his kingdom among his three daughters based on their flattery. After he disowns his honest youngest daughter, his greedy older daughters betray him. The result is a descent into madness, betrayal, and civil war, ending in tragedy.

Join us on Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 p.m. for a screening of , the award-winning documentary from Blackfoot filmmaker Damien Eagle Bear.

Exploring the story behind one of Indigenous social media's most iconic memes, follows the life of Pernell Bad Arm, a Kainai man whose image became a symbol reclaimed by Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.

Through intimate interviews and personal stories, the film moves beyond the viral image to reveal the man behind the meme. There will be a Q&A afterwards. Tickets available at the door.
