Brimstone Head Folk Festival Official The Brimstone Head Folk Festival is an annual outdoor music festival held at the base of Brimstone Head every August in Fogo, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Fogo Island Folk Alliance was founded in 1982 with the intention of fostering an interest in traditional Newfoundland music and dance. A small group of artists would gather weekly in a hall for a couple of hours entertaining each other. As interest grew and more locals joined the gatherings, they began to travel around Fogo Island to perform. Eventually, as these events grew, the first Brimsto

ne Head Folk Festival happened in 1984. Now in it's 32nd year, the Brimstone Head Folk Festival is one of the largest in Newfoundland, drawing thousands of people each year, both local and tourists.

What. A. Weekend. We wanted the 40th to be a big celebration and was it ever! The Fogo Island Folk Alliance would like to thank all the groups and people who volunteered their time this weekend to make it such a huge success. A shoutout to all the talented performers we welcomed to the stage, some for their first time. A special thank you to the Masterless Men for performing as the headliner band, you were fantastic. We also want to send out a thank you to Chris King and Ryan Miller who are the reasons why you can hear the bands. The time, effort and talent it takes to do what you do all weekend is greatly appreciated.
And of course to all the people who attended the festival! We hope you had a great time celebrating music and friends!
