Norva Centre The Northern Visual Arts Centre has the mandate to enhance our culturally vibrant community. NorVA Centre acknowledges that we are in Treaty 5 Territory.

The land on which we work and live is the traditional territory of the Cree, Inninnowuk, Dene, Saulteax, Oji-Cree, Anishinabe and Homeland of the Métis

The NorVA Centre is an artist run studio and gallery co-operative committed to supporting and promoting local artists and craftspeople in northern Manitoba. Enriching our rural community by exhibiting the artwork of local and professional artists,

offering a broad range of workshops and classes for artists of all skill levels and hosting numerous visual arts and cultural events. The NorVA Centre also offers meeting and event space for other cultural groups such as the Flin Flon Writer’s Guild and Flin Flon Creighton Photo Club.

What a fabulous week at NorVA's Artist Retreat!
Our artists enjoyed dedicated time to create, collaborate, and learn from one another in a welcoming and inspiring environment. While the summer heat kept most of us happily indoors, a few artists ventured outside to sketch in nature and find interesting objects to draw.
The evenings brought opportunities to learn as well, with Donna Champagne sharing insights into working with pastels and techniques she has developed through her art classes.
On July 21, participants also attended Karen Clark's artist talk, which was very well received.
As always, saying goodbye at the end of the retreat is bittersweet—especially to those who travelled to join us—but we're already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

There's still more to come! Join us on Tuesday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m. for Donna Champagne's Artist Talk, where she'll share her artwork, creative process, and artistic journey.
