Day five of painting a bug themed rock a day for a week - white underwing moth.

Fun fact (and I hate to get sappy on you)… I told my mom before she passed to send me hearts from heaven. I found this heart rock not long after. And today on a hike I found a perfect moth wing sitting on a leaf for me to find. So tonight, while thinking of and missing my mom; I painted the moth from who the wing treasure belongs to, onto my heart rock treasure ❤️

Day four of painting a bug themed rock a day for a week - meet the caterpillar hunter.

Fun fact: A single larva can consume around 50 caterpillars during its development, while an adult eats hundreds over its lifetime, making them a major biological control against destructive pests like spongy moths and tent caterpillars 😳

Fun fact: When bats hunt, this moth emits high-frequency sounds from its thorax to completely scramble the predator's echolocation and sonar jams! 😳

today features the candy-striped leafhopper.

Fun fact: they have a unique habit of forcefully shooting excess sugary liquid from their rear end 😳

In early July I hand crafted/sewed a very special pocket for author Aron Nels Steinke, celebrating his new book release. And somewhere along the way the postal service misplaced it… total disappointment but I wanted Aron to see it so decided to share my video anyway…
