Honoured to share that "Selling Water in Uganda" has been accepted into the 9th Annual Emancipation Art Exhibition.
This piece is especially close to my heart. Rooted in Ugandan history and culture, it reflects the stories, resilience, and dignity carried through generations. In many African traditions, storytelling preserves memory and truth, and I see this work as part of that continuum.
"Selling Water in Uganda" speaks to the inequities surrounding access to essential resources and invites us to reflect on the meaning of freedom, dignity, and our shared humanity. I am humbled that its story resonates within the broader themes of Emancipation.
Thank you to the Halton Black History Awareness Society for creating a space where our histories and hopes can be witnessed and celebrated. I look forward to seeing this work on the walls of the Helson Gallery and to celebrating with fellow artists and the community at the Opening Reception on Sunday, July 19.
