Honoured to share that "Selling Water in Uganda" has been accepted into the 9th Annual Emancipation Art Exhibition.

This piece is especially close to my heart. Rooted in Ugandan history and culture, it reflects the stories, resilience, and dignity carried through generations. In many African traditions, storytelling preserves memory and truth, and I see this work as part of that continuum.

"Selling Water in Uganda" speaks to the inequities surrounding access to essential resources and invites us to reflect on the meaning of freedom, dignity, and our shared humanity. I am humbled that its story resonates within the broader themes of Emancipation.

Thank you to the Halton Black History Awareness Society for creating a space where our histories and hopes can be witnessed and celebrated. I look forward to seeing this work on the walls of the Helson Gallery and to celebrating with fellow artists and the community at the Opening Reception on Sunday, July 19.

“Dancing on the Beach” — a 12×12 mixed‑media painting on wood panel, part of my ongoing On the Beach series.

This piece began with the way movement shifts on sand — how each step becomes heavier, slower, more intentional, yet somehow more fluid. The warm evening breeze has its own rhythm, and I wanted to capture that moment when fabric, wind, and body all find the same tempo.

The On the Beach series follows those quiet, sun‑washed moments where the world softens and the mind eases into something dreamlike. This painting is one of those pauses, a breath held between land and water.

Uncovering a treasured memory - 'Street Musicians', a painting sold years ago, reappeared in my photo memories.

This piece was inspired by a chance encounter with a street band in Rome. Painted 17 years ago, it holds a special place in my heart due to its subject matter. The memory of the band's performance remains vivid in my mind whenever I see this painting. I used acrylics and a palette knife to create this piece, a technique that brought me great joy and one I'm eager to revisit.

I'm drawn to subjects that spark joy, whether figurative or not. Including figures in my work often piques the viewer's interest, inviting them to create their own narrative.

I hope this painting brings you joy!

Super stoked to be showcasing my work at the Propeller Art Gallery in Toronto! My piece, a mixed-media diptych exploring mechanical discovery, combines ink, acrylics, vintage elements, and recycled commercial ceiling vents. It's a fusion of raw metal and delicate narrative - a visual 'Eureka!' moment where waste becomes art. Join me at the exhibition! 📅 Propeller Art Gallery, Toronto. Details coming soon!
