What a wonderful weekend! Thank you everyone who came out to Sewing Stewardship. The opening event was shared in circle through collective reading, intentional gardening and listening to teachings from Nokomis Carol Tyler. It was a special night that was graced by a full blue moon.
Yesterday for those that braved the heat, during our nature walk on on Guelph's old landfill we learned from Anita Cazzola about the gifts of plants, their role in healing the soil, and the joys of color plants offer when making natural pigments and dyes. We then got to try our hand at some painting using pigments made from Anita's old dye baths.
A big thank you Nokomis Carol Tyler, Christina Kingsbury, Anita Cazzola and Jenna Leigh for sharing your artworks and for creating the ingredients to bring our community together to talk and think about soil remediation.
Thank you Victoria MacPhail from Pollination Guelph for sharing your plant and pollinator knowledge of the area and for taking some great pictures of the event !
Thank you Guelph Arts Council for your support in this project
