Opening Friday night, find my painting of at in Hamilton! The show is part of . This painting is part of my project “racism at home” which installed portraits along my property line, representing people who have had terrible run-ins with police. Indigenous and people of colour, very often killed by police. Miller lost his eye to 2 off-duty officers.

The show is called “The cost of staying human - the State of the World.” Look at Miller’s eye. May we see clearly.

Loved seeing the work of Jacob Irish at SCaM Project Space a few weeks back. And Sunday is the last day to see it? Should have shared this earlier, but I developed an August aversion to social media. But really — the show is so evocative, obsessive… he makes an alternative universe of material ideas.

Go Jacob!!

What an amazing experience with Two Row On The Grand — 10 days paddling the Grand River with a flotilla of indigenous and settler travellers, inspired by the Two Row Wampum of 1613. Paddling, teamwork, teachings, respect, and open hearts.

Spain, 4 of 12. We had studio space in a historic farmstead right adjacent to the National Park. A beautiful space, and ready access for our park research. The main room had massive north-facing windows. There was second room where we would share meals, or crash out on a couch for siesta.

Such a productive space, with the generous care of the owners Pepe and Maria Luisa.

Spain part 3/12: The Park! The residency is focused around a small national park: Tablas de Daimiel National Park. So beautiful, and a place of contrasts. Water must not be taken for granted! So many birds live here, or migrate through. An oasis in the dry area of La Mancha, south of Madrid.
