You know what they say about assuming π«’.
If I'm being completely honest, I assumed that the paintball community would be this gruff group of people that would be harsh and unwelcoming. I guess the intensity and "roughness" of the sport made me think this way.
I can't tell you how absolutely ridiculously wrong I was. Not only was that assumption wrong, it was literally the opposite. People were so welcoming. They helped show me the best spots to take pictures from, how to stay safe, and taught me the rules of the game. The refs would even shield me if I was in a crazy spot. I saw kids being encouraged and helped. New players were taken under a veteran's wing. Intense fire fights were followed up with fist bumps and hugs. Any squabbles that happened on the field were gone once you put the barrel plugs on and take the masks off.
Once you see a good player using their hard practiced techniques on the field you start to see the "art" of the game. But with this game you get this amazing mix of bravery (cause those things freaking hurt), technique, and team coordination.
This sport really doesn't get painted with the right brush or get the recognition it truly deserves. I hope to capture the moments in this game that show it's true colours to those that aren't on the field to see it for themselves.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for this game and the amazing people that run the organizations and play the game. You guys are awesome π«‘π€.
Here are some photos to show those sides of the game most might not see.

PS: I don't have skin in the game. I don't even play paintball. I just go out and take photos and want to share the game from a different perspective.
Thanks Wasaga Beach Paintball Adventure for doing what you do and helping to create such an amazing environment for everyone to have fun!
