Family name and coat-of-arms for a lovely member of the MacLeod family. This has a little bit of everything: sandblasted, hand-carved, enamel paints and natural stain on this Western Red cedar sign. We decided to upgrade the lettering to 23kt gold to get that extra pop of shine.
This was installed in their stairwell, leading to their basement lounge. I will have to share the finished placement, as soon as I find that picture.

One of the coolest things about a 23kt gold leaf on your window is the golden shadow it casts on the ground on sunny days!
This effect happens because of the mirrored effect the gold leaf gets from the reverse gilded technique used. The gold is applied to the back of the glass, on the inside of the store, with a water/gelatin "glue", allowing the gold to be burnished to a mirror shine.
How awesome is that!?

It's March Break here in Ontario. We will be closed for some much needed family time! Hoping that my fellow Ontarians have an amazing March Break with their loved ones. See you all in a week!

It was a beautifully blustery day when I lettered this little beauty. I was glad for the use of the garage to protect me from the wind.
You are looking at a 2017 Raveau Runabout, built in the true old style. This was purchased from the original owner and moved up to Ramara. The new owner wanted the registration numbers painted to match the "Raveau" red and have the same feel as the lettering from the existing logo-type. So, out came the pencil and sketch book. With some adjustments on the final pattern, I got to work.
It turn out nicely and the customer was very pleased with the final look. He is looking forward to getting it out (legally) on the water this summer.
I treated myself to a brew and pretzel from Quayle's Brewery on the way home, for a job well done. Cheers!

A nice little note and gift came in the mail this week! ☺️
Thank you Sign Association Canada ( ) for putting together the SEC Conference and the "connection challenge".
This package was a nice reminder of the awesome time we had in October.

It's that time of year! Festive Holiday season is in full swing. This year, we will be shutting down from December 24th to January 4th, to spend some quality time with family and friends.
