Auditions
Shootout at the Silver Spur

When: July 5th & 6th @ 7PM
Where: St James Church (Library) side entrance
What: Cold readings from the script
Roles: 3 women and 6 men (although the script is flexible!) various ages

Synopsis: An evening of cards, music, and whiskey is interrupted by a murder!
The saloon staff and regular customers all have secrets that make them suspects. This interactive and improv styled murder mystery is set in the old west.
Actors will be required to memorize short scenes and be ready to improv dialogue with dinner theatre guests.

Show dates: September 11th and 12th (showtime 6-9) and 13th (showtime 12-3).

Rehearsals will be determined by availability and experience of cast. Likely to be minimal in late August, early September. Two read throughs and 2-4 rehearsals.

Auditions are happening tomorrow at The Elmira Theatre Company located in Elmira at the St James Church (side entrance). Auditions are at 7:00 pm and are by cold read. Come on out! We are looking for 8 women and 3 men to join our team. This is going to be such a fun show to work on.

at St. James Lutheran Church, 60 Arthur St. S. Elmira
When Annie loses her husband John to leukaemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute members to pose for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their newfound fame.

Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling play in British theatre history.

Just a few photos from our successful collaboration with Elmira Legion Branch 469 using the fabulous script from Knock 'Em Dead Scripts! We had such fun presenting ‘Slain at the Speakeasy’ by Stefanie R Austin. We think our two sold out audiences had a great time too. Let’s do it again!
