💜 A Big Thank You from the North Shore Parents Association of Dance 💜
As this season ends and a new one starts, we just want to say — thank you. 🙏
To our amazing communities in Elliot Lake, the North Shore, and Blind River & to everyone who has supported from every corner of the province — thank you for showing up again and again this year. Whether you bought raffle tickets, came to our March Dance Showcase (donated too!), bought something, attended bingos, played in our first Golf Tournament or simply cheered on our dancers and threw us a ♥️, your support made all the difference.
This season, the North Shore Parents Assn of Dance supported 41 competitive DanceWorks dancers perform 49 routines at three competitions — The View in Toronto, Bedazzled in Collingwood and Shine in London. Every single dollar to get there was raised through community fundraising. Registration for the team to attend EACH competition is around $20,000 (yup! You read that right!?).
And we didn’t stop there. We proudly supported our dancers in completing their prestigious CDTA ballet exams and in attending our local dance workshop— right here at home at DanceWorks. This gave dancers the opportunity to work with professional choreographers, explore new styles, and gain valuable learning experiences without the added cost and travel burden for families. These opportunities are so important to their growth, and we’re thankful that we could help make them more accessible to our dancers and their families.
The dancers spend countless hours in the studio, refining their skills, building their artistry and performance qualities, and preparing to represent our communities across the province. It’s inspiring to witness, and it’s a big part of what drives us.
We believe in the power of kids being involved — in dance, soccer, skating, swimming, baseball, school programs, whatever it may be. Being part of a team, staying active, and having something to work toward is so important to their development and well-being. We’re just so lucky to be part of a community that gets that — and backs it with such heart.
