Please note:

Although I do sew & work with fabric, I am NOT a seamstress or a tailor. I do not sew clothing, install or replace zippers, buttons, etc on clothing, do clothing alterations, etc.

I design, create and sew bags, quilts, crate pads, and occasionally make dog toys as well.

I’m not entirely sure when or even how my page’s classification was changed from arts & crafts to sewing/alterations, but this has now been corrected.

To anyone who has tried to contact me for clothing alterations, etc, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this incorrect classification may have caused.

I know money is incredibly tight for most of us these days - but the simple fact is that every single cent raised will help.

Even if you can’t help my beloved Ghia financially, it would still be such a huge help if you could please share this everywhere you can.

My sincere thanks,

Art FAQ’s:

Hi there!

Well, as many of you already know, I’m Wendy, and I’m a seamstress/rock artist located in Edson, Alberta, Canada. I greatly appreciate you stopping by my little fb page!

For anyone interested in purchasing any of my painted or sewn items that will be or are listed for sale, I would appreciate it if you could please take a moment to read the information below:

* All painted items for sale can be found in albums in the “Photos” section. Prices for each item will be included in the picture description, along with pertinent information, which include approximate size and weight, if it is natural stone or created, etc.

* Prices in description do *not* include shipping charges, but a shipping estimate can be made available for you on request.

* Complete payment *e-transfer only* is due prior to shipping. Item will not ship until full payment for cost of item + shipping is received. (Insurance is strongly recommended but not absolutely necessary - see below for further details). Once received, a tracking number for your purchase will be provided. You will have up to 48 hours to provide payment for your item(s) via e-transfer only.

*Please note*
Because of past issues regarding non-payment, it is now my policy that if I have not received payment within 48 hours after confirmation of successful sale, the item is then put back up for sale. If you are having issues with an e-transfer, PLEASE contact me to let me know before the time limit has elapsed, and I’ll do my best to work with you to solve the issue if possible.

* All items will be available for local pickup in Edson. (Due to the Covid pandemic, I currently am unable to deliver for personal health reasons).

* All sales are final.

* All provincial, national and international orders will be carefully packaged and shipped via Expedited Canada Post with tracking numbers included, and I will contact you to double check your address with your tracking number prior to shipping. (Insurance is available by request for an extra fee, but please note that all insurance costs are set by Canada Post, and I do not ever charge handling fees!).

* Please note that I cannot control the speed at which Canada Post, or any out of country postal services delivers your item(s). This is the main reason why I do not ship without a tracking number - it is the only way we can both keep track of your purchased item throughout its journey to its new home.

* Customers are responsible for any border/customs fees in their country on shipped items (if any).

* I use both natural and created stone for my paintings. I make all my own art-stones by hand using a variety of silicone art-stone moulds and cement.

* Natural stones used in my paintings are carefully hand-picked by me from along the creek on our farm near Rosevear Alberta, or else picked by hand by myself or occasionally by a few wonderfully thoughtful friends from along the McLeod and Edson Rivers (with permission from the area landowners), from among several different spots throughout Yellowhead County, Alberta.

(Please note: Any rocks that turn out to not be suitable for painting are always returned to the area they came from. I am also always careful to never over-pick from any area to try to avoid any damage to the environment).

* All collected rocks are then washed by hand using a biodegradable soap, rinsed, placed in large pots and boiled for 30-45 minutes. Once cool enough to handle, they are then carefully scrubbed completely clean by hand using the same biodegradable type of dish soap, rinsed well and left in the sun to dry.

* All paintings are done with different acrylic paints, and on some I also use different decorative elements - such as genuine Swarovski crystals, specialty chrome powders, alcohol inks, temperature reactive ink and more. The majority of my artwork is sealed and protected with 1-3 coats of Resin. (How many coats depends entirely on the nature of each rock, as some require more than one coat to provide a smooth finish).

Although I often do similar styles of painting, every single artwork is unique. All are hand painted by myself and signed. (I do not ever sell unsigned work). I paint both original designs as well as paintings that are inspired by the available free designs by other rock artists and their tutorials.

I try to always make sure to credit all the other incredible artists who have taught me/inspired my work - but because many of these types of designs are freely available, you may see these same designs on other sites. I take very great care to make my work as original as possible, and take a great deal of time with each painting to provide items of the highest quality possible.

Although I personally love all the variety available out there by so many other artists, not all paintings are created the same, and unfortunately, over the past few months I have been contacted several times by people who have been disappointed to discover that they have mistakenly bought what they thought was my artwork from other pages/artists - so if it IS my work in particular that you’re wanting to own, please just be sure to purchase from my page. (If you decide you prefer someone else’s work, I totally get that as well - there’s some AMAZING work available out there from just incredible artists! ❤️).

* Occasionally I do create limited edition original design artwork, of which only a set number of that particular style of painting will be made. (Information on those will be included in their description).

* If an item is sold or it’s sale is pending, this will also be noted in the description.

I apologize for any inconvenience but I am NOT currently accepting custom orders. I only open custom orders a few times per year, and will put a notification up on the page well in advance of when I plan to reopen custom sales. (Please note - a non-refundable deposit will be required on all custom orders, for both sewn and hand-painted items. This deposit will then be subtracted from the final cost when payment is due).

If you have any questions, please contact me here via FB messenger and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Note:

*These FAQ’s are subject to change if needed, but a notification of any changes will be made available on my main page.

*This is a home-based business. Please note that although I am owned by 3 dogs, they don’t smoke. 😉

*This isn’t a standard FAQ boiler plate - All I ask is that you please be considerate and do NOT copy and use the information on this page on another site.

Hi there everyone!

This is my very special little gal. Last fall, I almost lost her to a malignant insulinoma at only 8 years of age. She was given mere weeks to live without medical intervention.

Fortunately, a lifesaving surgery was available, but it was going to be extremely expensive. (Although I’d had insurance for all of my dogs, unfortunately this little gal’s policy had been cancelled by the insurance company because she and I were doing agility).

I know that some people perhaps won’t understand my decision, but despite knowing it would put us deeply in debt, I absolutely HAD to fight for her and give her the best possible chance at living the rest of her natural life.

Thankfully the surgery was successful beyond even my wildest dreams, and this precious girl went from only having a few weeks to live to (we hope!) her normal lifespan. She’s happy and healthy once more, almost 8 months post op without any issues so far.

The reason I’m telling you all of this is because I want to thank everyone who stops to take a look at my handcrafted items that will be or are up for sale, and I wanted you to know that every single cent from every item sold will be going towards helping to pay off her very substantial vet bill of more than $7,000.00.

I was incredibly blessed to have been helped out by a very special “Ghia Auntie Angel” who loaned us the funds at the time so that the skilled veterinary surgeons & staff at Guardian Veterinary Centre in Edmonton AB could do the surgery. And although there’s no way I can every fully repay her for the gift of life that she gave to Ghia, by gosh - I WILL pay back the costs!

I’ve had folks suggest I open a gofundme page to help with her bills, but I quite honestly just much prefer to raise the money this way - it may be old-fashioned, but I guess that’s just how I am.

I really hope you find something to your liking. And if you do, I also hope you’ll consider purchasing it, as every cent counts.

Gratefully,

Wendy & “Little G”

Welcome!

Well, THAT was a much longer break than I’d first planned, but I’m so happy to have my little fb shop back up & running! Some things have changed, but definitely NOT my insistence on providing an excellently made product, using strictly top quality fabrics and hardware on all of my creations.

Now! What’s new?! Well, due to the pandemic and also circumstances beyond my control in my life, I have had to switch to making specific items instead of the huge variety of different things I used to offer before. But there’s also been some new changes that I’m really excited about, and I hope you will be too! So, without further delay...Dreamsnake Creations is now offering the following:

Handmade items:
Specific designs of totes, bags, purses, wallets.
All designs available will be listed on the page with an example photo and the price.
Customization of all sewn creations will be available with non-refundable deposit, which will be subtracted from final total when payment is due. Customizable options include specific available colours, materials and hardware.
Pre-made items will occasionally become available and will be listed on the page, so be sure to check back often!

*Please note: due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, I am currently unable to offer as many customizable options as before*

NEW!
Hand painted artwork, (Acrylics with various mixed mediums). Surfaces include:
- Natural river rock, harvested by hand from local rivers and creeks on or nearby our farm just outside of Rosevear Alberta, Canada.
- Moulded Artstones, various shapes and sizes, handmade by yours truly using mortar cement.
- Canvas
- Wood
All artwork sealed and protected with brand epoxy resin. Eco-friendly, non-toxic, non-yellowing.

Shipping and handling FAQ’s:

All items will be shipped with insurance and tracking number via Canada Post once weekly (Thursday’s). I am not responsible for their rates or any shipping delays due to the current pandemic, postal strikes, etc. (I still do not charge “handling fees”).

Please note: Customer is responsible for all shipping fees unless otherwise stated.

Currently, due to the Pandemic and Provincial/Countrywide lockdown or restrictions, exact shipping costs will be available upon request on Thursdays only. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. (Reducing to only one shipping/estimate day per week is to help reduce the risk of contracting the virus while out in public).

I am still I the process of getting everything uploaded and organized onto the page, so please bear with me. ❤️

“Karma” Charlie Holster Bag - not for sale, display only.

CHARLIE HOLSTER BAG information:
*Please note: bag(s) pictured are not available for purchase - example purposes only!*

Price:
$32.85 - Standard.
High-quality designer quilting cottons, various patterns & designs. Some choice of colours & patterns.

$43.00 (& up) - Custom/Personalized.
Includes: high-quality designer quilting cotton or canvas, plus additions of cork, pleather, decorative metal rivets, custom-made zipper pulls, etc and also your choice of additional options below.

Description:
The Charlie Holster Bag is the hands-free option you have been waiting for! Replacing the f***y pack, this is a holster bag that can be used as a cross-body bag or holster style with an optional thigh strap to keep it snug against you.

Dress it up with an ready-made embroidered patch on the pocket flap, or have it pieced together with some cork and a focus print. Once done, you'll wear this bag everywhere! Shopping, the park with the kids, concerts, craft fairs, etc.

Small enough to be unobtrusive, but large enough to fit small items in the cargo pocket (like moisturizer and lipgloss), your credit cards and a snack in the zipper pocket, and your cell phone in the back slip pocket (pressed against your leg so you know when someone calls while it’s on vibrate). Leave your wallet behind and take only the necessary items with you.

While I do offer standard ready-made bags in the original design, if you so choose, with your help and input I can also make you a unique, personalized Charlie Holster bag.
I use high quality quilting cottons, along with possible additions of pleather, cork, ribbon, grommets, rivets, etc to help you make your Charlie bag bag uniquely all your own. (Please note that customization will carry additional costs).

***Please Note***
Regarding the rear slip/cell phone pocket: this is designed for standard size cell phones. Some extra large phones, such as the iPhone plus series, may not fit properly in the slip pocket.
Please be sure to discuss the size of your cell phone’s fit in this pocket prior to purchase.
Size:
Finished size is 7.5” wide x 9” tall excluding the wings with the grommets.

Waist and leg belts can be made from either webbing or fabric, and are custom-fit for all sizes at no additional fee

Additional options:
1). RFID fabric in credit card pockets ($7.50)
RFID fabric is designed to help insulate you from a very particular brand of electronic pickpocketing, called “RFID skimming”.
There is some disagreement on the reality of RFID skimming theft and it is an expensive fabric, therefore this is offered only as a custom option for people wanting it rather than a standard option. Also, please note that although this is only applied to the card pocket piece inside the middle zipper compartment, RFID fabric can interfere with cell phone reception.

2). Zipper on rear cell phone pocket - $4.00
The original pattern design calls for a slip pocket in the back for your cell phone. If you would prefer, a zipper can be installed on this pocket instead for additional security.

Hello lovely people!

To all DC customers awaiting delivery of orders (as of May 4, 2018):

• All orders have been sent out as of 4 pm yesterday, either by Canada Post or Purolater Courier as preciously agreed upon.
Please be sure check your emails for your tracking link number(s) and information.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE**
Due to the fact that we are now renovating and my entire sewing studio is currently in four different rooms OR in temporary storage off the property, I will be unable to accept any orders for at least three weeks.
I greatly appreciate your understanding and patience while we put in new flooring, complete the rest of the renovations (and then attempt to set everything back up, lol).

Thanks so much. I will be sure to let everyone know when orders open back up!

~ Wendy

01/09/2018

Please note: due to a “Big Bertha” breakdown, until my heavy duty machine is back from repair I will not be able to work on current orders and will not be taking further requests.
It will be at least two weeks before I can resume work, (starting on January 12/18). I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Thank you so much,
Wendy
