Sometimes the placement changes — and that’s part of the process. ✨

A design can look perfect on paper, but once we bring it to the body, we get to see how it actually moves, curves, and flows with the person wearing it.

Sometimes that means shifting it.
Rotating it.
Moving it higher or lower.
Or completely rethinking where we originally imagined it going.

I’d rather take the extra time to adjust a stencil than force a placement simply because that was the original plan.

The body isn’t a flat canvas. Every curve, muscle, and natural line can change how a tattoo is experienced — especially when we’re creating work that’s meant to complement your anatomy rather than just sit on top of it.

Sometimes the best placement is the one we discover once we’re actually in the room, experimenting together.

Stencil. Step back. Look. Move. Repeat.

Until it feels like it belongs there. 🖤

✨ A little mystery, a little magic, and a whole lot of trust. ✨

A while back, Emily snagged one of my Mystery Tattoo specials, which meant handing over the creative reins and letting me run with it.

She gave me a few little breadcrumbs of inspiration — gothic, unicorns, celestial — and from there, I got to disappear into my weird little creative world and see what came out. 🖤🌙

And this is where we landed.

A dark, slightly eerie take on a unicorn, surrounded by flowing movement and celestial details — created specifically from the things she told me she loved, rather than knowing exactly what she was getting beforehand.
This piece is still a work in progress, with more to come, but I’m already loving where it’s heading.

Mystery tattoos are such a fun exercise in trust between artist and client: you give me the ingredients, and I get to create the recipe.

Would you ever let your tattoo artist completely surprise you? 👀✨

✨ And if this kind of work speaks to you, my books are OPEN for the Alberta Tattoo & Arts Festival in Calgary this October 16-18! ✨

I’d love to take on more pieces where I’m given a concept, a collection of things you love, or even just a general feeling — and the freedom to turn it into something uniquely yours. 🎃

Some pieces aren’t meant to be revealed all at once.
They unfold. 🖤

From the first placement of the stencil — a quiet blueprint of what’s to come — to the first lines settling into skin, each session begins to give the piece its own weight, movement, and presence.

Layer by layer. Line by line. Slowly becoming.
This is the journey from stencil to its current in-progress state — not finished yet, but already so far from where it began.

There’s something beautiful about documenting the spaces between the beginning and the final reveal. The moments where you can still see the process, the decisions, and the evolution of an idea taking its place on the body.

Still becoming. Still creating. Still more to come.

There’s just something so satisfying about a good stencil peel 😮‍💨✨

That slow reveal when the stencil has transferred beautifully, everything is sitting exactly where it needs to be, and you finally get to see the design wrapped onto the body instead of just sitting flat on a screen.
Peel. Reveal. Admire for a second. 👀

Then it’s time to make it permanent. 🖤

Anyone else find stencil peels ridiculously satisfying to watch, or is that just the tattoo artist in me? 😂

CALGARY — I’M COMING BACK! 🖤

I’ll officially be tattooing at the Calgary Tattoo & Arts Festival, October 16–18 at the BMO Centre, and my convention books are now OPEN! ✨

If you’ve been wanting to get tattooed by me, this is your chance to snag a spot while I’m in Calgary.

I’d especially love to take on:

🖤 Neotraditional & illustrative pieces
🖤 Ornamental, geometric & mandala work
🖤 Colour or black & grey
🖤 Larger pieces designed to flow with the body
🖤 Existing flash that’s been waiting for its person
🖤 Your weird, beautiful, spooky or slightly unhinged ideas 👀

I’ll be accepting both custom concepts and available flash, with a limited number of pre-booked appointments throughout the weekend.

And because convention weekends are always a little more fun when I get some creative freedom, if you’ve had an idea sitting in the back of your mind waiting for the right artist… send it my way.

Not to be dramatic, but a clean stencil peel scratches a very specific part of my brain. 😮‍💨👌

Peel it back, admire the placement, and now we get to make it permanent. 🖤

Anyone else find this ridiculously satisfying to watch? 👀
