I am very excited to be able to make some of my jewellery creations available to you! I started my creative journey way before I can remember, but my jewellery creations, in particular all began when I enrolled into The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Here, I was surrounded by imaginative souls who all wanted to share, encourage, and make with one another. I made many great friends and
was exposed to some very passionate and talented instructors and classmates. I am forever thankful for this experience. I graduated from the College in 2009 in metalsmithing with some great skills in my pocket and a thrust to make what I thought to beautiful things. My inspiration came from observing the smallest details that nature has to offer, and was pressed to incorporate these details into my art forms. With my new eye I was eventually able to concentrate my skills on a specific technique. The technique that allows me to highlight and capture natures finest details is called 'casting'. Casting is a lengthily process that allows you to turn a real leaf you picked off a tree, make a mold of it, and then turn it into a beautiful silver leaf. Most of my work is casted from things in nature or at least has a component of a casted nature piece. So far I have casted many leaves, which you can see with my pendants, branches, flower pods, berries, rose buds and more to come! The special meaning of jewellery to me stems from my respect and love of creativity, the beauty of nature and its perfect imperfections, the grounding effects nature has on me and my connection to it through jewellery and the special value things have through gift giving. Meanwhile I have a small collection of rings, pendants, and earrings ready to share with you. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to ask and if you like it, well “like” it . I will be setting up an e-bay store very shortly as well as an Etsy account from which you be able to purchase anything you like. Cheers
Kelly
