As our we draw back the curtains for tonight’s ball, we look to thank our Director for his time, guidance and creativity!
A note from our director who poured time and energy into adapting the Boston Dip and creating a show we have all had the pleasure of creating together.
Directors note: I’ve been working on the script for Boston Dip since last October, and while going through that process, I focused on giving a lot to the audience. There’s dance, fight, quick wit dialogue, and even a lost monocle. Every character has a clear goal, and the entire ensemble is afforded the opportunity to show off their immense talent. One of the most important things in dramatic writing is giving your characters effective introductions, and Boston Dip is full of big, loud entrances to a bevy of exciting characters. The story is family friendly, and has a warm feeling to it, which is something everyone needs right now. I also feel strongly about the play’s structure, because there’s a clear shift halfway through that allows the second half to feel fresh, rather than redundant. Boston Dip is a can’t miss show this Fringe season. Come search for that lost monocle with us at the Sugarswing Ballroom!
