Kaleido Festival 2025 was so amazing. Stop, Drop, and Paint with Vince, Tricia, Caitlin, and Jordan. Also the family festival collaboration paintings. In all 15 large painting were made in about 7 hours over 2 days.
Thanks so much to Arts on the Ave, the Carrot Cafe, Christy Morin and her incredible staff and amazing volunteers! You guys are the greatest!!!

Phiqual Poynte, Shawn Pinchbeck, James Parrott, Stephen Sereda

For years, Phiqual Poynte has intrigued a small audience with his rough-edged approach to experimental music, while enraging much of the community with his politics and attacks on the “woke” contingent in the Edmonton artistic community. However, he has found a more receptive response to his works in Europe, particularly on the UK label Institute For Alien Intelligence, which will release his latest digital collection in time for his final live appearance.

The new release, ФIKAЛ ПOЙHT (a Cyrillic treatment of his moniker), consists of 15 new tracks, ranging from found-sound collage to quirky ambient and noise offerings. It’s his first full-length release since his 2017 outing Crapezoid, issued on Edmonton-based Sudden Moment Recordings.

Institute For Alien Intelligence has put out most of Phiqual Poynte’s recordings, although other labels like Petroglyph (Norway), Linear Obsessional (UK), and Xenomorph (UK) have also released some of his works.

Pay-what -you-can. 100% goes to the musicians.

Tomorrow night at Collins Studio Gallery. Some of the best experimental electro/acoustic music for miles and miles! It is a pay what you can gig ($5-$20?) and all the money goes to the musicians. This is Gene's last Edmonton performance as Phiqual Poynte. Come have some fun!

I'm very happy to start teaching out of the studio again this fall. Experiment with oil painting without the expense of all the supplies. Everything you need will be provided for you to paint your own still life oil painting. You will learn valuable techniques, which when practiced, will help you build a solid foundation on how to paint with oils. Welcome to the journey.
