Thank you to NAIT’s student game development club, , for inviting The Games Den to attend Level Up 2026! Whether you’re beginning your journey as a game developer, are an established studio seeking to connect with upcoming talent, or simply want to support the local games community by demoing projects, this ✨FREE✨ event is open to everyone - no skills or prior experience necessary!

Visit The Games Den booth ✨THIS SATURDAY✨ at NAIT between 12 pm - 6 pm to meet the incoming executives, bid farewell to the outgoing ones, and play some freshly released projects created by students who have completed courses in the Computer Game Development Certificate (yes, U of A teaches game design)! Join former Games Den President and co-founder of , Jawdat Toume, at 4 pm during ’s panel on “Entrepreneurship and Game Development”!

Recently we had Jawdat Toume of Daisy Chain Games come to our club to give a talk on getting your game from the ideas stage to the publishing stage and our members worked on creating a game idea together! Here are some pics from that talk and the slides from that talk are available on our discord!

Hello everyone! The Games Den is so excited to announce a new monthly event called Brew, Build, & Banter (B3) at Labo coffee on Whyte!! Join fellow developers from the student world and beyond for an evening of coffee, chatting, & boardgames!!!

Introducing a new anthology! The theme for this semester's Anthology is... Revelation! Perhaps a revelation that brings enlightenment, what was once in the dark is now in the light. Or, if you may have accidentally replaced that 'a' with a 'u', it's about something spinning around a whole lot! The deadline is August 31st and all entries will be showcased in the first meeting of the Fall semester!

This week, we will be building an important skill when it comes to working in a team, communicating the idea of the game to fellow team members to ensure that everyone is on the same page during development. We will be playing a game of Game Communication Telephone, where we start from a base game idea and then pass it on and see how close we can keep the game to its original concept. This meeting will take place this Monday at the Juniper Room from 4pm-6pm! Hope to see you all there!
