Ukrainian roots. Her own stories. A fresh new sound. Meet Marissa K. 🎶

Edmonton singer-songwriter Marissa Karpiak—known as Marissa K Music - brings together her love of music, dance and theatre through imaginative storytelling and piano-driven pop.

Her Ukrainian heritage has always been part of her musical journey. In her 2025 album Train to Lviv, it takes centre stage - blending Ukrainian folk influences with her own contemporary sound.

Inspired by a 2019 visit to Kyiv, Lviv and Ternopil, the album explores memory, belonging and what it means to be both Canadian and Ukrainian. Personal stories with a connection so many of us understand. 💙💛

Now, hear Marissa live at RESONANCE — Ukrainian Roots. New Sound.

She joins Ariana Whitlow and Anastasiia Kostiuk of Theatre Gerdan, alongside the outstanding Shockolad musicians from Lviv, for an evening of Ukrainian favourites reimagined and original music looking toward the future.
