Northern Lights Folk Club

Northern Lights Folk Club Non Profit Society / Music Venue Concerts are at Parkview Community Hall at 9135 146 Street. Unless otherwise noted in the concert listing. Doors open at 7 pm.

The Northern Lights Folk Club (NLFC) is a completely volunteer run, Non-Profit Society, dedicated to the promotion of live acoustic roots music in the Edmonton area. Concerts start at 8 pm. Concerts are non-smoking; food and beverages are available. Concerts traditionally showcase an opening performer followed by our featured artist(s). Tickets range from $18 - $30.

**Stephen Fearing Songwriting Masterclass**

This two-hour songwriting masterclass offers an in-depth look at songwriting with Stephen Fearing, revered for his vivid lyricism, masterful guitar work, and a voice often described as melodic and cobalt. A two-time JUNO Award winner and co-founder of Black and the Rodeo Kings, Fearing brings decades of experience crafting songs that capture the human condition with honesty and edge.

Drawing on his acclaimed body of work, including his 2025 release The Empathist, he will explore song structure, melody and lyric, tension and release, and the anatomy of a compelling song, along with practical ways to move through writer's block and the internal critic. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and questions for a grounded, practical session rooted in real0-world songwriting crafts.
