Edmonton Short Film Festival The Edmonton Short Film Festival is a unique festival presented to showcase Alberta short films.

The Edmonton Short Film Festival was created to offer a venue for independent Alberta filmmakers to screen their short films. Since its inception in 2013, the ESFF has grown to include opportunities for filmmakers to learn and connect with each other.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY: Justin Wiesinger is the winner of “Best Music Video” for his alt pop duo’s song “Doom Scroller” at ESFF’s 2025 award show. He’s a proud husband and touring musician, bus driver, top 1% air bnb host, filmmaker, dvd shop owner, and all around fun guy!

SYNOPSIS: A man’s morning unravels in spectacular fashion — dead phone, torn clothes, a dead car, and a bag that refuses to stay closed — as he races to catch his flight. He makes it to the airport. Just not on the right day.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY: Abdullah Al-Nono is a Yemeni multidisciplinary creative based in Calgary. He taught himself design, motion, and animation through years of independent study, moving across graphic design, VFX, art direction, editing, and visual storytelling without a straight line between any of them.

SYNOPSIS: In 1902, The Alberta Corner Store opened its doors as the primary grocery store in the Ramsay district of Calgary. It survived for over a century as a common space for the community. However, Mrs. Kim is now in her 80s and needs to retire.
