I saw a photograph today and something came into my mind. No offend whatsoever, however, I am just here to state how maybe we can do things a little differently. In the topic of feminism and the respect for girl child, the world is working vibrantly towards getting women to have the same opportunities as their fellow counterpart. To state a fact we are making giant steps towards this objective as many girls and women are not only making progress in the education sector but also in other categories such as job opportunities, leadership positions and so on. There is one thing, however, regardless of all these improvements, the girl child is not treated right in regard to the respect she is accorded. Let me break this down into a simpler way to enhance simple understanding, the girl child as per now appears to be a competitor to a boy child which is not the position we all want to be in. Educating the girl child aims at getting the girl child more respect and value in a society, this is not the case as we speak. The girl is getting education but is still undergoing harassment and disrespect at a devastating rate. This is my point, let us disagree to agree, feminism works in advocating for the girl child rights but should never be done in a way that brings down their male counterparts or ways that create chaos between the two sides. If we want to create a society that respects our daughters, our sisters, our mothers, our grandmothers, we should not educate them in order to be equals to the man. We should educate the man from boyhood on how to treat a girl right(Institute of Family Studies, 2020) ; on how to respect a woman and not call her names or see her as any inferior despite her age. Feminism is okay but let's tackle the problem from the grassroot level. Prepare the mindset a of little boy on the importance of respecting a little girl and not only by words of mouth but by actions and watch the world change for the better on both sides.
