✨Meet the Crew✨

Jolene Underschultz is our wonderful Stage Manager!

Jolene Undershultz (they/them) is a local Edmonton theatre artist by day/night/whenever rehearsals can be squeezed in and bookseller the rest of the time. They graduated from the Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Alberta in 2019 with a major in drama and a minor in classical studies, just in time to take a small break from in-person theatre due to unprecedented circumstances, you all get it! They've had the pleasure of working on Fringe shows in years past having directed Barefoot in Nightgown by Candlelight and The Shape of a Girl with Haven Theatre Society. Jolene is thrilled to be working with such a wonderful group of people to help save the marsh, and they hope that you'll enjoy the show!

Meet Paul Balicki (Stage hand and Quick changer)!

Paul is very excited to be a part of Anna Saves The Marsh! He was last involved with Edmonton Fringe 2016 as Backstage help in Not A Nefarious Plan. He also helps on-stage and backstage as a character server at Jubilations Dinner Theatre. Paul is slowly starting his acting career, so when he's not honing his awesome acting skills can find him dazzling customers at Staples. Paul is happy to be working along side the Assistant Director/Set Designer, Debbie Plaquin, who has been there from the beginning of his acting journey. He would like to say thank you to his parents June & Larry who have been his biggest support and to his grandma who took him to his very first musical at 6 years old. A big thank you to his sister, Amber-who, together put on epic musical productions in their basement! Paul lives with ADHD as well as a learning disability, theatre is one of the things that really helps him remain calm and focused. Meet Debbie Plaquin (Assistant Director/Set Design)!

Debbie is very excited to be a part of Anna Saves The Marsh. She was last involved with Edmonton Fringe 2016 as Momma Bear, in Not A Nefarious Plan. She also performed as Shirley, in Shirley Valentine by W***y Russel in 2017 in this very theatre! Debbie has been acting locally and across Canada on stage and in film for more than 30 years. She is happy to be working with Playwright Adam Schwartz on his second installment in his Anna series of plays and stories. She is thrilled to be assistant director to her Alectra Performing Arts co-founder, Jules. As always, she is thankful to her family and friends for all their support and love. She hopes you have fun helping Anna save the Marsh!

Meet Jules Pepin (Director, Producer)

Jules has been involved in theatre for over 15 years, training through Trinity College London where she earned her ATCL Performance Diploma in Speech and Drama. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Drama from The University of Alberta. Jules has worked as a Stage Manager for Opera Nuova and Horizon Players. She is currently the Class Coordinator for The Grindstone Theatre School (Grindstone Theatre). It is her great pleasure to direct Anna Saves The Marsh! She hopes you enjoy the show.

Meet Asia Bowman (Anna) .wnkf

Asia Bowman is a theatre artist from Edmonton, Alberta and a soon to be graduate of the University of Alberta Bachelor of Arts program, where she majors in drama with a minor in women and gender studies. Some past performance credits include Moonie and Maybee Dig Up A Grave (Nextfest Arts Co), Until The Next Breathe (Catalyst Theatre), Tracks (Vena Amoris Projects), E-Day (Serial Collective), and Anna and the Substitute Teacher (Winnipeg and Edmonton Fringe Festival). Asia is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity in the arts, with dreams to one day open her own theatre company committed to presenting works from marginalised artists.

Meet Logan Stefura (Will)!

Logan (they/he) is so thrilled you’ve come to help save the Marsh! After a wild pandemic Logan is so ready to make their return to Fringe! Bring on the green onion cakes! After this year's festival, Logan is entering their second year of the honours bachelor of musical theatre performance program at Sheridan college in Ontario. selected credits include The Drowsy Chaperone and Assassins (Citadel Young Musical Company), Scenes from the Sidewalk (Plain Jane Theatre), Shrek the musical (Victoria School of the Arts). Huge thanks to Jules, Jolene and Debbie and lots of love to Mom and Dad!
