EARLY FALL WEDNESDAY AFTER-SCHOOL DUNGEONS & DRAGONS

Duration: Every Wednesday starting on September 16 to October 28, from 4:30PM – 7:30PM

Description: This Dungeons & Dragons adventure uses the 5.5 edition ruleset and is intended for players aged 9 to 13. This early Fall after-school program will last for seven sessions every Wednesday from 4:30PM to 7:30PM.

Everything needed to play will be provided such as dice, paper, pencils, tokens and character sheets. Players will receive a new set of dice or a mini as part of the program. A full meal will be provided each day.

The first session will introduce players to the rules and expectations of the D&D Program, which include table etiquette, a focus on teamwork, how to build characters and combat mechanics. Sessions two to seven will consist of participants playing through the adventure until its conclusion. In session seven the story reaches the climax, rewards are handed out and the group celebrates their victory.

The adventure is called The Storm King’s Thunder: A Great Upheaval, where a sudden and violent uprising of Giants has threatened the land. Players will take on the role of adventurers on a quest to drive back a goblin ambush, save the towns of Bryn Shander, Golden Fields and Tribour from destruction and defeat the mastermind behind these attacks before things get worse

Join The Resplendent Cave for a two-hour Dungeons & Dragons adventure inspired by French-Canadian folklore

We provide everything you need to play, such as dice, character and writing utensils. You may also bring your own character. Character creation rules can be found at the bottom.

ADVENTURE: THE ENCHANTED CANOE

It’s New Year’s Eve and your party is a long way from home. You’ve been working for months up in the mountains, felling trees, dealing with predators and warding against magical threats. Homesick and weary, you would give anything to return home and celebrate the réveillon with the rest of your friends and family, but that journey could take weeks on the river.

Just as you were resigned to greet the new year in the lonely mountains, your friend Baptiste says he knows a way to get home in mere hours – all you need to do is make a deal with an archfey.

The Enchanted Canoe is an adventure inspired by the French-Canadian legend of chasse-galerie. Players will take on the role of adventurers who are attempting to return home by taking a shortcut through the Feywild.

Character Creation Rules:
- Level 3 characters
- 5.5E edition D&D rules
- Ability Scores will be generated by Standard Array or Point Buy
- Only official content published by Wizard of the Coast is allowed
- No races with innate, at-will, unlimited flying, hovering or gliding speed (eg. Aasimar heavenly wings are allowed, wild magic barbarian flight is allowed, aarakocra are not allowed)
- Characters start with basic equipment and no magic items
- Any item cards earned from previous events are allowed
- Pre-made characters will be available upon arrival

Shannon Barnard is the founder of Blik and Stilty Games, a service that provides professional gamemastering in different systems. Her work includes creating immersive experiences with beautiful set design at Good Knights Entertainment and providing content for youth D&D programs at game stores.

At Gaming Industry Night 10, Shannon will be talking about her beginnings as a professional gamemaster, the hardships and the victories. She'll talk about what she would have done differently and what aspiring GMs need to know.

This event is open to anyone with a passion for the business of games. You may be a game designer, a publisher, or a e-sports competitor. You might be a writer for tabletop roleplaying games, a board game manufacturer or the owner of a game/hobby shop. MEET YOUR GAMEMASTER: CODY LORD

Cody Lord is a philosopher, poet, educator, and entertainer operating out of Treaty Six territory. As a pre-service language arts teacher, Cody uses Dungeons and Dragons as means to inspire creative expression in all ages. He strives to introduce more magic into the world by inviting people to worlds of meaning and play.

As a Dungeon Master, Cody is known for his genre-bending campaigns that were hosted at the 124th street location of Tabletop Café. He has been the Dungeon Master for hundreds of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition sessions and is an adaptive writer who personalizes his campaigns to the interests and ability of his players.

During the D&D Bash, he’ll be running an adventure of his own creation: Who’s Who in Witch’s Wares, where adventurers join an awakened donkey on his quest for independence from his witch taskmaster.

WHO'S WHO I WITCH'S WARES

Donkey Oatey has been in the service of Bavlorna the witch for as long as he can remember. He owes her a great debt because of that unfortunate day when he raided her hut and drank a room full of her potions; one of which was the very Potion of Awakening that led to his ability to recall the event and regret its occurrence.

Donkey has been working off his debt to Bavlorna by serving as her chauffeur and guide through the land of Hither, but he dreams of one day finding a spectacular treasure and trading it for his freedom.

He believes he can find such a treasure at the Great Faerie Faire, a grand trading convention where the fey creatures of Hither, Tither, & Yon gather to exchange trinkets, baubles, potions, and strange collectibles.

Even better, with the right people in his wagon, he could find a way to win the Generosity Queen Contest, the coveted award given to the most appreciated fey merchant.

Trinket collectors, fans of the Witchlight Carnival, and those with whimsical hearts, will enjoy this DND 5th edition session intended for level 6 characters.

MEET YOUR GAMEMASTER: SHANNON BARNARD

Shannon Barnard is the founder of Blik and Stilty Games, which provides professional gamemastering services in the Edmonton Area.

During the D&D Bash, she'll be running an adventure of her own creation: Circles Within Circles, where adventurers must recover a treasured insignia of the Circle of Wildfire from the Feywild goblins who stole it.

CIRCLES WITHIN CIRCLES

The Emerald Enclave is known by many as a society deeply invested in the protection of Faerun’s natural world. It welcomes those who prove worthy of The Oak Father's blessing and award those with the title of Caretaker. New Caretaker’s are welcomed into Enclave Circle’s by ritual held under the light of a full moon deep in the secret heart of Coltree.

One such ritual, however, has been interrupted by a group of Feywild goblins and they have stolen the insignia for the Circle of Wildfire. The leaders of the Emerald Enclave, known as The Three, have summoned you for a special mission.

You are to travel to The Feywild to retrieve the insignia and return with the goblins who stole it. The Witch Queen Iggwilv has offered passage through her realm, as penance for the theft.

As with all things Fey, remember that not everything is as it appears and that rules can be stretched before they are considered broken. Travel swiftly, your time there will last as long as her patience. May the strength of Silvanus protect you.

Kassidy is a longtime storyteller who loves creating immersive worlds where players can uncover mysteries and shape the course of the adventure. When she isn't running games or working as a Food Safety Specialist, she can usually be found tending her garden, exploring the river valley, or reading alongside her cat.

During the D&D Bash, she'll run an adventure of her own creation: The House of Lost Things, where adventurers are on a quest to save a kingdom from the clutches of the evil arch-hag, Grandmother Briar.

Once, King Humphrey ruled a prosperous kingdom. Now, he watches it crumble. His people suffer, his nobles have turned on him, and the eternal youth he bargained for has become a curse. The one responsible? Grandmother Briar, an immortal arch-hag who cannot be defeated…unless you can find her hidden weakness.

Deep within the Feywild lies the House of Lost Things, a realm where everything lost eventually arrives. Somewhere inside is the secret that can destroy Grandmother Briar.
