She's got the strut, she's got the sass, and and now M’yong is got the stage, ready to slay the Africanival 2026 runway.

As she walked down the street, she couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. She'd always dreamed of strutting down the runway, showcasing the vibrant colours and rhythms of African, Caribbean, and other global cultures. And now, she has the chance to make that dream a reality.

Warning: participation may lead to spontaneous bursts of dance, uncontrollable smiles, and a serious case of fashion envy.

Imagine the thrill of walking down the catwalk, surrounded by stunning performances, delicious food, and vibrant art, all celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.

Join the fun, join the fashion show, join the parade and win some cash ($200, y'all!) for best cultural couple outfit!

…their taste buds started doing the Jerusalema moves…

Enow, Kofi, and Ada were on a mission for the ultimate Africanival dish.

As they scanned the vendors, their taste buds started doing the Jerusalema moves.

“Fried Plantain or jollof rice?” Kofi asked. Enow raised an eyebrow.

“Beef stew or suya?" Ada countered.

Game on!

They dived into a feast fit for royalty – spicy jollof, crispy plantains, and tender suya that made them wanna take part in the parade with their beautiful cultural outfits and also join the dance competition.

Africanival's got the goods! 5-7, Eastwood Park, Edmonton.

Your taste buds will thank you.

Hello my friend,

It’s Frankline, the Voice of the Community. I’m personally reaching out to invite you to Africanival 2026.

Bring your family, bring your friends, and bring your heart. For 3 days — June 5, 6, and 7 — Eastwood Park on Alberta Avenue will come alive with 10,000 of us celebrating the beauty, rhythm, and resilience of our cultures.

This is more than a festival. It’s homecoming.

Kids will laugh and learn in the Kids Corner.
50+ artists will pour their souls onto the stage.
150+ of us will raise a glass in the beer garden.
20+ young models will walk with pride in the fashion show.
6 vendors will serve up the taste of home — Jollof Rice, Fried Plantain, and more. 100+ vendors will serve you unique arts and crafts, as well as services, develop connections and answer surveys.

And when the parade steps off, you’ll see flags, colors, and faces from across the diaspora, marching like we belong — because we really do.

Dance with us. There’s a $200 prize for the best dancer.
Show up in your best cultural fit — $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd.

Alberta Avenue has carried heavy stories for too long. But the Ave has never lost its heartbeat. Next weekend, that heartbeat becomes a drumline. Elders will share wisdom. Youth will paint the future. Neighbors who’ve only nodded at each other will dance together.

We’re not asking you to observe. We’re asking you to stand with us.
Sit with us. Eat with us. Dance one song with us.

When you stand in Eastwood Park next weekend, you won’t just see a festival.

You’ll see what happens when a community decides to write its own story.

Alberta Avenue is turning the page — with you, and with Africanival, as authors.

Be there when we write the first line.

It’s Free…!
