at the beginning of the year, put a call out for a project "the unfinished painting V" - drop off an unfinished painting for someone else to work on, pick up someone else's unfinished artwork but you must leave at least 20% of the original work visible. sounded like an interesting concept and I have quite a few unfinished/repurposed artwork kicking around.
the first image shows the final completed canvas that I worked on; the 2nd image shows the painting's original state. like the Rorschach test "what do you see?" I initially thought about incorporating a Chinese lion as I was working on this close to chinese new year. ended up with my own rendition of a haetae, which is a legendary Korean creature and mythical guardian symbolizing justice, righteousness, and protection against disasters, particularly fire. sehr cool right?

go see it at the paint spot as it's on display among the other submissions of this project until April 23/25, though you'll have to look up, waaay up, and to the right when you enter the store
