WTC 2026 is officially a wrap. I cannot express how elated I feel as I write this on a train leaving Belgium.
40K Canadian Worlds Team achieved 8th place last year which was the best it historically had and it put us into the tier 1 countries. This year, with a larger number of countries and a harder path, we achieved 8th place again, making this year our best ever and solidifying the fact that Team Canada IS a tier 1 team.
Personally, I was able to have a great debut year as a player with 2 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws. Given my role on the team, I achieved what I needed to while using a unique list that suits my role and style. I got to represent my country that I love, competing in a hobby I love at the highest level, with team mates that I love (this includes Team New Zealand who collaborated and trained with us), against players from an international community I love. Every single round was competitive, respectful, and extremely sporting.
I was also there to celebrate with my dear friends from TeamUSA40k for winning the whole thing. I know how hard these boys have worked for years to achieve this and I could not be more happy nor more proud of them.
To all my team mates, family, friends who gave me reps, leant me models to save me painting time so I could practice more, gave me advice and reassurance when I doubted myself, or cheered us on from home, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Until next time!
