July moved so fast we barely had time to share where the Caravan has been… and among all the journeys, this one stayed close to our hearts!
Earlier this May at Re-Union Music Festival , we crossed paths with thisissami , offering his Interactive History of Palestine workshop for the first time, somehow right in front of our little Turkish coffee booth. We sat, listened, and left deeply touched. I remember quietly wishing we could carry this conversation further one day.
Then in July, Sami messaged out of nowhere saying he was on his way towards Salt Spring and asked if we could host the workshop here. Funny how these things find their way back to you!
With so much help from Christina Chua and Kajin Goh , who opened Phoenix Landing and trusted us to create another little circle on the land, we gathered for an intimate evening of stories, history, lived experience, and questions especially the ones we sometimes don’t know how, or don’t dare, to ask…
Maybe we need more spaces like this. Places where we can ask before we assume, listen before we answer, disagree without becoming enemies, and remember the human sitting across from us.
Sami is already dreaming of coming back, perhaps next time for an open debate circle, where different voices and experiences can meet honestly.
Honoured to walk beside Sami for this little part of the journey.

And somehow… this was only one small chapter of July.
