One of my long time clients passed away recently. She knew she was going.

I did not know Diana like family. But I did love her like family. Her husband died a couple years ago and I saw how much it hurt. I’d go over there and try to be helpful for her in her time of need. (Probably botched that in hindsight)
She called me a couple months ago to say thank you for all I had done for her (hadn’t done much) and for all the love I’d shown her with the carvings and the help around the yard. (Again, I hadn’t done much)
I’ve never had someone call me to say goodbye and to thank me for my attempts to make their life just a little more enjoyable.
Crushed me.
I’m not sure my dear clients fully comprehend how thankful I am for the purchases. For the allowance of me into their personal lives. For loving me. For caring about me. For trusting me. For being my Friends.
The sales are one thing, and of course, required to survive. But the kindness and love and Grace I have received from this venture of carving is where the real rewards and blessings arrive for me.
My bank account is often empty as I chase after this dream. But my hearts account is full and overflowing.
Thanks to so so many Folks like Diana.

I will not soon forget your smile Diana Toutant, nor the kindness towards me.
An impact on my heart you surely made.
You all do 🙂
And I love you all for it.
