Tonight we will be a part of Drumheller's Celebration of Excellence. We, The Badlands Amphitheatre Society, are nominated as the 2025 Event of the Year for the 30th Season of the Badlands Passion Play.
Over 8000 people attend the play last year. This production is supported by a large group of dedicated actors and theatre professionals who live and work together for weeks, rehearsing in all kinds of conditions.
Hundreds of volunteers hand out cold drinks, prepare food, and help guests to their seats. Our small staff works all year to prepare for the following year. Donors and supporters make sure we go forward as tickets do not cover the costs given the scale of this show.
Over our 30 seasons, this community has contributed over 100 million dollars in extended economic impact in the region through the play alone.
