Driftpile Cree Nation’s 10th Annual Hunting Camp is coming up September 7–11, 2026 at Boulder Creek.

For 10 years, Hunting Camp has brought our community together on the land to learn, share and celebrate culture across generations. Elder teachings, hunting and harvesting, preparing and drying moose meat, fireside conversations, land-based learning, family time and plenty of good food.

A place for every generation.

📢 JOB OPPORTUNITY: TRAVEL CENTRE SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Driftpile Cree Nation is accepting applications for a Travel Centre Shift Supervisor.

The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the Travel Centre, supervise staff, prepare schedules, manage inventory, assist customers, oversee cash-handling procedures and help maintain a welcoming and professional environment.

Experience requirements include:

• One year of gas-station management experience
• One year of inventory-management experience
• Three years of customer-service experience
• High School completion or higher
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a clean driving record
• Fluency in Cree is considered an asset

Criminal Record and Child Intervention Record Checks will be required.

The Driftpile Cree Nation Travel Centre is accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Stock Person.

The successful applicant will help stock and organize products, rotate inventory, receive deliveries and maintain clean shelves, coolers, stockrooms and sales areas.

Qualifications include:

• High School completion or equivalent
• Previous retail or grocery experience is preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift between 10 and 50 lbs
• A Criminal Record Check will be required

After more than 60 years in our community, the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church building is scheduled for demolition.

Community members are invited to join Fr. Sunny Joseph on Sunday, August 23 at 11:30 a.m. for a prayer service and an opportunity to say goodbye to a building that has been part of Driftpile for generations.

For many, this place holds memories of family, faith, community gatherings and loved ones who have passed through its doors over the years.

Everyone is welcome to attend and share in this final gathering.

Wow! 😮

There is not a single active wildfire throughout all of the Forest Protection Area across the province. According to Alberta Wildfire, this is the first fire-free day in August in at least 10 years!

As always, we're sending a huge thank you to the amazing fire crews who have worked tirelessly to battle the fires in Alberta and have travelled to support efforts in other parts of the country! ❤️
