when going through the drivers... I do believe that my mom made a lot of the colours for the horsemen... remember travelling to Hespeler to the mills to get the fabric..... peau de soie was what they were made of...

Join us for Black Heritage Day and Caretaker Appreciation Day. Be sure to stop by and visit New Start Standardbreds, who will have a booth set up underneath the grandstand.

Admission and parking are free, with post time at 1:00 p.m.

As we wrap up another incredible season, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers, horsepeople, sponsors, and loyal fans. Your support has made the 2026 season one to remember.

Dresden Raceway wraps up its 2026 racing season with a 12-race card on the Civic Holiday Monday, Aug. 3.

The afternoon features Black Heritage Day and Caretaker Appreciation Day celebrations, along with New Start Standardbred on track.

The racing will be highlighted by Prospect Series action for three-year-old pacers.

Race 2 is a competitive Prospect Series division for the colts. Over Bet (PP3, Mark MacDonell) gets the slight edge as the 8-5 morning-line favourite after facing tougher company at Woodbine Mohawk Park and should appreciate the class relief. Saulsbrook Rodeo (Aidan Dicks, 2-1) comes off an impressive Prospect Series victory at Hiawatha Horse Park and looks like the main threat from the rail. Stumbleandstagger (PP4, Lorne House, 3-1) has been in excellent form with two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three starts.

The fillies take center stage in Race 4. Troublewithmaggie (PP2, MacDonell, 8-5) looks to rebound after a tough trip in her last Prospect Series start and has already shown she can win at this level. Mc Princess (PP1, Garrett Rooney, 2-1) has been racing consistently against solid competition and owns a Prospect Series victory this season. Aunt Gertrude (PP3, Anthony Haughan, 3-1) brings the strongest class lines in the field after competing in an Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots event and the Kin Pace.
