At GOdanz school, we are community builders, event organizers and dance promoters. We run classes Tuesdays and Sundays-check schedule.
The Sunday Kizomba n Salsa socials have officially stopped due to post- pandemic 'operations'. It s unfortunate after 16 years!
THE GREAT NEWS is...

We've been teaching outdoors in summer, indoors in fall by the waterfront. We offer workshops and intensives in urban kiz with a unique blend of wellbeing modalities.
The purpose now is to connect to self, to regulate the nervous system, have a stronger relationship to our body, and thrive in creative play to bring joy through our being!
It's a unique concept and we'll be adding experts like sound healers and body mechanic experts to our workshops.

Hello! Im back for summer time and early fall!
Im sorry i wont be holding beginner kizomba- semba classes, nor beginner urban kiz.

Im training teachers however! So stay tuned for when they re unleashed intp the Toronto wild :)

In the meantime, beginners can join Vamika and Carleb's fun n social Thursday June 13 (monthly) at Que Rico. Look it up.

Or if you live near Junction Albena s at Afro Latin Connection studio.

HOWEVER if you re an advanced mover and groover you can join my WEDNESDAY TARRAXO CLASSES from June 17 to Oct 9th, 8 to 10pm at Sugar Beach.

Tarraxo is a niche branch of the urban kiz club scene.
We have a good 7 dances intertwined with the word 'kizomba' - it gets confusing!

Tarraxo is a more get down n dirty, funky town, get your rhythm on partner dance, where follows spend 60ish% mirroring lead, 40% where they take turns playing spontaneously to the music!
It s super fun.

There is no kiz in there ironically, even if people fold it in. Partners embrace in a hug hold and do a LOT of mirroring.
So your body isos and musicality need to be on POINT.
The reason you need to be an adv dancer is coz many dance cultures are pulled into the movements like hip hop, dancehall, afro this aro that :) so many cross pollinations and eras.

It s like asking where are u from and u say South africa, Cuba, France, a little Irish and Philippino.
:) it s rather complex.

JUNE 14 is an adv Tarraxo general overview, 8 to 10pm 45$ near Bathurst and Lakeshore area.

7pm Learn the most popular FIGURES and timing in kizomba/semba as a base for urban kiz.

8pm Mix and Match Figures (adv beg to adv to change your default sequences).

7pm - Urban Kiz drills
leg lifts, styling, accelerations n slow contrasts, cross steps, musicality. Take 3 steps and change order. Then add styling , turns and musicality in between to get used to improvising.

8pm- 9 30 Urban Kiz Plus

Concepts: body isos styling, fusing genres like douceur, tarraxinha, tarraxo, semba and afrobeats in your urban kiz
Use these also to enhance the steps from the 7pm class.

9 30- 11 30pm Kiz Social
all kiz students welcome
*Out of consideration, kindly dont attend socials not knowing the kizomba dance and asking people to teach you. Bluhhhh. Take lessons before, even if you re another kind of expert dancer.
