The Art Shed - Dorchester, Ontario This is our time to explore a variety of ways to share our stories, our ideas, our dreams through the creative arts.

I've taken on the task of creating a central spot for activities related to exploring creativity for the seniors in my community of Thames Centre. Please be patient as I find my voice and those of others who share their passions to create with words, movements, paints, cameras, wood, stone and anything else that lends itself to free expression. Today I watched U13 baseball games from 8am to 7pm… squeezed in the Norway England game… and played with the gelli pad. I experimented with glossy magazine image transfer using the pad and Pebeo paints… I’m kinda getting the process. I love making a mess.

The month of May was very merry as the art shed artists created these “Widdle Women” inspired by whimsical artist Karen Campbell. Copies of these canvases are now on display in the Dorchester Community Park.

Tales & Trails - Now Displaying Creations from our Active Living Centre's Creative Art Studio
I am pleased to announce that this initiative is now on display at Dorchester Community Park. A great partnership between Middlesex County Library (Dorchester Branch) and the Creative Art Studio (located within the Active Living Centre). A special thank you to Penny who organized all of the artwork, and to all of the artists, to Tori & Abby for printing the artwork, Kayla for including description of project and to Middlesex County Library for laminating and installing the display – a true team effort!

This great artwork will be proudly on display until at least the end of August.
