Didsbury's Not-For-Profit Society of 2015!

2024
The Mountain View Arts Society volunteers are active, creative, and engaged. Our strength is our people; their work creates a better, healthier and more connected community. Learn more at www.mountainviewartssociety.ca.
* The Arts Society heads up a mural feature in downtown Didsbury. Our first one was an incredible collaboration with people w

ho painted their own leaves at the 2019 Arts Festival. The leaves were then added to the roots, trunk, and branches. This first mural can be seen from two streets or up close and personal on the Elks Hall building, behind the Post Office. The second mural is being created in the spring of 2024 by wildlife artist, and Didsbury doctor, Mike Sydoryk.
* Held on the August long weekend, Alberta's Heritage Day weekend, Days of Yore is an outdoor living history festival entertaining and educating the public to cultural traditions, lifestyles, and activities of bygone eras through authentic representation of those times. Days of Yore features artisans from Mountain View County and the surrounding region, but a very special artist - artisans who specialize in creating heritage arts and traditional crafts in keeping with the character of this festival. Learn more at www.daysofyore.ca.
* Since 2011, thanks to the community and Canadian Heritage, the Arts Festival has been one of Didsbury Alberta's signature events, and Mountain View County's largest festival of its kind! Held in conjunction with Alberta's Month of the Artist and Alberta Culture Days, the weekend following the September long weekend will see the town come alive with dancers, storytellers, musicians, songwriters, railroaders, Indigenous culture, painters, carvers - you name it; if it's artsy, it'll be here!
* "A Brush with Art" Spring Art Show and Sale features visual artists from Mountain View County and the surrounding region. A highlight for the artists is the opportunity it provides to network with each other, as well as meet prospective clients. We are excited to present artists and their work once again in the spring of 2025, after a one year hiatus. You will see Emerging Artists, have a chance to vote in our People's Choice contest, and see artists practice their craft in our Artists' Windows. Our History
